I know a Cybertruck owner that has to scrape dogshit off the windows every week. He wants to sell it, but it would mean a $60K loss in 11 months.

I gave him lots of money when he showed off Teslas all-electric sports car, pitched the model S sedan, and laid out the plan for solar roof tiles, and home battery storage.

It was a beautiful moment when I saw a billionaire putting their money against fossil fuels.

When he was struggling to get model 3 production rolling, I gave him lots more money.

Then he started shitting on trans folks and I started divesting, but still wanted Tesla to succeed.

Then he essentially bought twitter with that money I gave him to develop Tesla and reports of working conditions started coming out so I divested more… But I held hope Tesla board would kick him out and I could put that money back.

Then he got into politics and Tesla board voted to give Elon tens of billions and I left all the way.

      Fucking shame.

There was a moment when Tesla was investing tens of billions into actual electrification research and developing compelling projects and making lots of money because of it.

Every once in a while he blackmails the Tesla board into giving him a shit ton of money. Besides that he doesn’t have much, his wealth is in stocks, mostly Tesla, because his other companies aren’t publicly traded. What rich people do to actually get money is they get a loan backed by their stocks, and then never really paying it back. Tesla is extremely overvalued, but because of that he can just borrow as much money as he wants.

Damn. It’s the end then. That can only mean the robots are ready for the streets. Literally, THE STREETS.

Think about it. He’s in the government (non-elected) and they are deploying ICE agents everywhere.

The robots will 100% be seen standing at street corners “keeping the peace” within a year.

Omfg am I crazy, or is this realistic? Please just tell me I’m wrong and there’s no chance.

You’re not crazy, but it won’t be Elon who does it. The Tesla robots are nowhere near ready for production. This is vaporware, just like the Roadster.

Oh please, all the robots need is a light intensity sensor, some simple targeting, and a gun actuator, and they can do “policing” even more effectively than ICE. Maybe a speaker to play a token warning message before firing. You know something like “HALT! Show your identity papers, you have 10 seconds to comply, 9, 8, 7”

Movement comes later, once all the immigrants have figured out where the robots are planted.

Yeah, lol. All the robots need is any actual robotics, and then they’re good to go!

they can do “policing” even more effectively than ICE.

A bulldozer with a brick on the pedal can do “policing” more effectively than ICE. That’s not much of a flex.

I don’t disagree, but have you seen what a bulldozer goes for? Guns are expensive, but a dirt cheap cobot arm with a 9mm and extended mag, will be a tenth or less.

Musk is well-known for bringing a project to a close way late and way over-budget. He’s the king of overpromising and undelivering. After a couple years of “next quarter, I promise!” they’ll be wishing they’d bought the bulldozer.

Thinking about this further down the road: What happens when the company stops making cars altogether or drops support? Do these smart cars still function without having to call home, or do they effectively become bricks on wheels?

Those robots are complete vaporware. I would predict we’re about to see whole lot of robot hype video clips on twitter and tiktok very soon. We’re going to see his fake “robot” playing soccer, making breakfast, juggling, and whatever. I’m sure they’ll be all ai generated. There will be paid tesla influencers who already bought cybertruck hyping up this non existent robots very soon. Elon will tout millions of robots sold but in reality they were all sold to spacex and those robots will be sitting in a hanger somewhere. It’s all smoke and mirrors.
