  • Where’s the images hosted on slrpnk.net or the site in the mangles URLs (which I can’t see now, while typing this)?

Because if you didn’t mean to link to images on slrpnk.net, then I have a hard time believing it’s not something misconfigured on slrpnk.net.

Otherwise why should you get that specific string added? Sure, if it had just been the site part, maybe it could be boost, but I’d still doubt it. But the extra path? That’s some kind of proxy module the admin has installed and forgot about.

How does other posts, by other users on your in instance, with image links look?

  • Not British. I’m a grown ass straight man with a wife, kids, back pain, and a mortgage, but FFS I’m still such a Robbie fangirl.

I always thought he should have played James Bond instead of Daniel Craig. But then again I always like Roger Moore better than Sean Connery. Robbie could have brought an Archer vibe back, instead of overcompensating for that 90s casting fail.

If only Robbie had been an actor. It may out my age quite a bit, but escapology is IMO one of the best albums ever. And it doesn’t even have Rock DJ, Angels or Let Me Entertain You. As I age, I love how Robbie started crooning… It makes it easier to follow the speed regulations on my commute.

  • I believe that you may be thinking of the newest development in the field of Advanced Manure Delivery: The Super Flamer 3000.

Think of the SF3000 as a holistically synergetic approach to fertilizizing and pesticide treatment. Combining well known ranged incendiary technology, with state of the art manure slurry dispensation technology, the SF3000 is applied as a pre-seeding treatment. By using the manure slurry as fuel, the SF3000 is able to reduce infestation of both insects and weeds in your fields, while staying biologically sustainable.

Look out for our TV commercials, we’ve spared no expense. We’ve got Aaron Paul to reprise his character Jesse Pinkman, in order to record our new slogan: “shits on fire yo!”

If the concept sounds appealing we also offer the SF4000x pro, which applies AI and vision technology, to target individual undesired plants with directed high speed streams of fire.

    …

Ok that was actually pretty rewarding to write. I had the concept bouncing around for hours. But oh boy, imagine being killed with a pig piss fueled flamethrower, I’ve got several other ways of dieing that I’d prefer.

  • Support from Nebula creators.

Nebula doesn’t have its own comment system, so it’s up to the individual creator where, if at all, they engage their viewers. Most if not all I’ve seen mentions reddit. Some may be on Bluesky too, but as far as I’m concerned Bluesky is just another proprietary platform that can turn into a monetization driven project.

I really want to participate in the jetlag discussions, but I don’t want to log into my reddit accounts ever again. So I’m left with the nebula community here, which is better than nothing, but we’re like 5 accounts that participate monthly.

  • Email was never a threat to mailed letters or magazines

Excuse me? You didn’t put a /s in there, so I’m genuinely puzzled by your comment. If it was sarcastic, then well played.

Granted magazines have died out because of websites, but letters?

As a Dane unless you have an exemption, because you’re very old or intellectually challenged, then you’re required to have a special digital inbox for government and banking. When that was in introduced, letters died in less than a decade. To such a degree that the postal service stopped delivering letters last year.

A private company took over the letter carrying responsibility, so you can still send a letter. But there are no mail boxes left, you have to go to a store that does packages as well and standing in line to send a letter. The private company btw did a splendid job of making the postal service seem competent in comparison. Something no Dane would have found possible in years prior.

  • Chicken math:

You have a couple of hens and a rooster. They’re pretty chill and everything’s cool. But you can’t eat the birds you have, then you wouldn’t get any eggs… Maybe you should get more birds? You wonder what it will cost you to hatch and rear some chickens. Before you’re done guestimating, one of your hens is broody, so you let it do its business.

You starting building a secondary run for momma hen and her chicks. You forget the material price, but you do notice the text message half way through the month. It’s from the bank, you’re getting close to insufficient funds on your debit card. Anyway you move some funds around and head off to the feed store. Chickens need special feed and different feeders/water dispensers.

The chicks grow and you start to see something akin to personality. You want to optimize for size, so you wait with the harvesting. Suddenly some start presenting male characteristics. But the rest? They’re too cute and you could do with a few more eggs.

While picking up considerably more feed, you notice the text message from the bank, you ignore it and start looking at that incubator that’s on sale. It doea look neat. Next spring then hens start laying eggs again, you decide to not wait for a broody hen, and you start collecting an incubator’s worth of eggs.

When the eggs are about to hatch, finally a hen has become broody, so when most egg have hatched momma gets her eggs switched with a load of chicks. You don’t have any chicks to loom at indoors now, so maybe you should hatch a few more. You’ve heard about a different breed that you want to try out, so you find eggs on facebook marketplace and drive for 2hours each way to pay 50€ for the 24 eggs your incubator can hold. Of the 24 eggs 15 are fertilized and as you miss a single critical water refill only 10 hatch. You do note that that’s 5€ per chick. But you think to your self “hey, it’s an investment, now I have this breed and can hatch more down the road”

You keep this up, and second year you are worrying that the authorities will discover that you have more than the 30 chickens you can have without registering. You’re also on a first name basis with the clerks in two feed stores and you ask about their kids ball games when you get your weekly 80kg of feed. You try to recoup some of the money by selling eggs. You have no idea what an egg costs to produce, but you can’t get yourself to charge more than about 50 cents per egg. You don’t piece it together, but your income doesn’t match your feed budget. Your bank loves you, because even though you should be able to save money for a car and a holiday, you end up getting financing for all major purchases and going on holiday is overrated anyhow. You like to stay home, who would take care of your birds?

    Anyway ⬆️that’s chicken math…
