The only advantage that I saw to Musk acquiring the company was the possibility of him running it into the ground. With any luck, Twitter will go the way of MySpace or maybe even face complete dissolution before the end of the decade; it was already a poorly maintained, advert‐riddled piss bucket before and it’s just been getting shittier and shittier every year.

I got fed up even before he took over.

Even principled Marxists can be pretty annoying on there. Some just spend their time arguing with libs or judging other Marxists even.

Idunno, most of that stuff just seems like a huge waste of time to me now. One day I was like 10 replies deep on some bs and realized taking a damn nap would be a more productive use of my time.

The less time I spend on social media, the happier I am. Except for Lemmygrad of course.

I was thinking “destroying Twitter may be the most based thing Elon Musk has ever done.” I mean he’s an evil fuck and an idiot and it’s not like he’s doing it on purpose but hey, a broken clock and all that.

Unsure. Maybe he will destroy it, maybe this is like a bailout. Some liberals suggest he overpaid for Twitter. I am unsure if that is copium or not, but he may have accidentally saved it from dying.

I just read that Twitter lost $ 1B in 2020 and “only” a quarter of that in 2021. I’m sure we have different ideas than libs about how a company should be valued, but no way we’re all coming up with $45B for a company bleeding money.

It gets worse though. Since a big part of Musk’s purchase was financed with debt there’s an additional $1B per year of debt service that Twitter now needs to pay. So there are really three basic ways this goes, either it dies a slow horrible death, he somehow magically finds some people who are able to successfully monetize it and stem the user exodus, or his US government and ruling class buddies pump in a bunch of cash to keep it solvent because they need Twitter for psyops and propaganda.

Imo he bought it just to have his own social media platform. What is a billionare today without one? And since he cannot make anything even with all his cash and people working for him, he just bough something big and famous, like a true failson he is.

Lmao oh no is twitter falling on its arse after a professional alt right clown took over?

    Quelle surprise 🤣

    • For such a “smart” business man, he sure doesn’t understand how to run a company without burning through as many folks as possible. Its soo bad at Tesla, they fire folks Monday and Tuesday they’re in new hire training again working for a different contracting company 🤦‍♂️

Revolving door employment. He’s such a prick, I hope this financially ruins him but with the backing of the US state I’m sure he’ll persist the rancid transphobic sack of crap.

He’ll unfortunately live to buy another company to do this to. Twitter iirc isn’t even profitable but is way too important for signal boosting NED funded protests. SpaceX has some DoD deal to basically do Amazon’s 2 hour shipping but for sending weapons anywhere on Earth. Tesla is just a masterclass in ecogrifting, and Boring Company typically has by far the lowest bid for any “mass transit” it bids on, which forces municipal governments to award them the contract even if the product is shit and overpromises and underdelivers.

Under bidding on government contracts and not delivering their over promises. Literally capitalism grift 101. The amount of companies that get away with this enrages me because of spineless governments and corrupt politicians protecting them.
