I feel like every third person has that same cat as their avatar. Some are like different colors and some just have an overlay or whatever but it’s the same cat. What is it???

SOLVED: They are all from this tool: https://www.peppercarrot.com/extras/html/2016_cat-generator/index.php?seed=Linux

Do you know David Revoy?. He is an artist and author of the webcomic “Pepper & Carrot”.

Here is the link of the webcomic: https://www.peppercarrot.com/

Carrot is an orange cat with a very specific design and his author developed an app which composed a cat with the same design based on the letters you enter (he created separated parts and the app compose a cat with the letters). The app is based on another which is Free Software, and this fork is Free Software too.

Here is the link to that first app: https://www.peppercarrot.com/extras/html/2016_cat-generator/index.php?seed=Linux

With that app and another Free Software port to Android, some users have created avatars.

Here is the link for the Android port: https://f-droid.org/es/packages/com.agateau.catgenerator/

iirc I’ve used the F-droid app to create one, like mentioned here : https://lemmy.ml/post/45345/comment/24546 I guess I was inspired by some avatars seen on Mastodon.
