    That round system is such bullshit.

    French people now have the choice between extreme right and extreme liberalism.

    Except France has a semi-presidential system, without a majority in parliament a French president’s powers are limited. (the legislative elections are in one month)

        Not always, thankfully. The real problem is that most voters ignore/forget about the legislatives. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cohabitation_(government)#Cohabitation_in_practice

    Worth noting how a bunch of parties that got 2~4% split the left and managed to ensure that Mélenchon lost to Le Pen by just 3%. Then they all turned around and endorsed Macron. This is a great breakdown of the whole thing.
