    An authoritarian typically keeps the military and police well-fed, or alternatively allows them to rob the plebs as they see fit. Otherwise bad things may happen to the emperor.

    Unfortunately, Trump is likely to kick the bucket before he sees any blowback of this.

          I think it’s right when he sees someone’s about to hurt her, so he hurts the guy or something, and the guy ends up getting kicked in the balls by Curtis. The scene ending with some awesome “action helicopter” cam of the extraction completed, home boy limping back to the heli holding his balls, “Son of a…”

          It’s such a well directed movie with perfect pace too. Even when it goes over top, it makes just enough fun of itself for doing so.

              Haha, I chucked it on last night after typing this comment. There’s so many scenes where characters have no place being there but they are, because it’s just the public dealing with an action hero.

              My partner hadn’t seen it before.

              “There’s no way he’s about to jump the building with a horse… Yeah, I was gonna say. A horse would never do that.”

              “But that’s the point. You’re so into the action hero stuff that you didn’t notice they played a screeching rubber SFX when the horse stopped.”

              😙👌

              Even Curtis’s line, “I married Rambo…” is another subtle joke in an otherwise action flick that has all the usual action flick appeal.

        It’s where the squad attacked bill paxton when bill was trying to convince Jamie Lee Curtis to leave the country. They cut the trailer in half, bill fell on Jamie and arnold flipped his shit, made this face.

      It’s one of the most hilarious things to me, just a masked face with Arnold’s lips making Arnold groans. That scene was gold, fuck that whole movie was gold

        Except for that weird strip scene with Jamie Lee Curtis. That did not age well.

        I watched True Lies again a few years back, and that scene made me cringe hard.

    It’s even better because when they do get paid if they leave before their 5 years they have to pay back their bonuses INCLUDING tax.

    So they’re kinda paying for the privilege of hunting minorities. Really sick to think about.

    Its the old bait and switch. Did you know that Federal Deposit Insurance can be paid out in a period of decades? They can make you ‘‘whole’’ over a period of time that can stretch over years. Technically you will not lose any money but practically you can die before you get your money.

      ICE had a signup bonus (dunno how much, $4000, I think?), and nobody received it yet.

      The guy who is ‘famous for not paying’ is Trump, who has a history of being in debt/not paying his debts off.

    Wait, are they really not getting paid? Dont get me wrong id rather see them just lose the job and or get deported (to the bottom of the ocean), but if they arent getting paid that a lil karma at least. And funny.

          Simply mentioning ICE doesn’t make it political. By that logic, any mentioning of anything related to any country, any type of police, any type of military would be ‘political’ and I’ve never seen anyone complain about that

              Doesn’t seem like it’s trying to sell me on Trump or Obama or Putin or Israel or anything. Just because a shitpost mentions current news doesn’t mean it’s automatically bad political. Seems to me like if you just don’t want to see anything about other countries, you should just find some communities specific to your own
