Well, the alternative was a lot more macabre. That would’ve been a controversial move as an artist.

316·25 days agoI’m all for it. The internet is unregulated, and it has a direct impact on people’s consciousness, it dictates what they think about.
Therefore, our minds, our emotions, our impulses and intentions are also unregulated.
My only concern is that this is a rather lazy approach when all it took was good digital literacy.
Edit: reading that back I’m putting over the wrong message. Our minds shouldn’t be regulated directly, what should be regulated is those who have the power to influence them. Otherwise, we’re no more free than if our minds were regulated.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•what even is the purpose of life?
51·26 days agoThen don’t.
Sit in it, ask it questions, find out what it’s all about.
9 times out of 10, it’s just your inner child who’s been neglected and misunderstood. Once you take the time to give love to your inner less developed psyche, you’ll not need to find escapism.
Because there will be no pain to escape from.
Love yourself, you deserve it.
And just to get you started… Let me open the door for you:
We do the best we can with what we know at the time. We’re products of our parents and environments. You can’t blame somebody for that.
Nothing wrong with that. It’s called figuring out what life is all about. And given that your 30s is when you properly mature. It makes perfect sense.

1·26 days agoMakes sense. If an adult hits a kid to get a desired outcome, then the kid is going to learn to hit others to get a desired outcome.
You are what you think about, and if you don’t control your thoughts, they control you.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•I am extremely fatigued with the constant negativity
1·27 days agoGood. You’re growing. A lot of us are. The internet is not a place to get depressed, it’s a place to unwind in free time.
Just be the change you want to see in the world, and only give your time to others who do the same. Overtime you’ll be fine.
Block everything you’re not interested in. You don’t get brownie points for complaining about stuff, and in all honesty it doesn’t make a difference anyway.
