The previous tenant here had a cat and it’s obvious. Curtains have claw marks in them, door facings chewed on/scratched pretty badly. Pretty sure my dog left no evidence but hair we may have missed at our old place.

How the hell would a cat chew or scratch up a door like that? I’ve only ever seen such damage from dogs.

My cat has only ever torn up the couch, but a friend of mine has a cat that goes ham on their banister, and the wood is probably missing ~2 inches after a few years

Yeah it was probably a dog that climbed up the curtains 5 feet and left holes in them, Sherlock. And I’m glad you realize that cat scratching posts are a scam because they totally don’t exist for the literal exact problem I observe. Overconfident once again. You act like you saw the damage yourself and smelled a dog despite knowing literally nothing. Seems to be your MO.

Dog and cat are probably under the bed and in the closet waiting until I’m asleep to demand to be let out. Hubs and I do sweeps for them when we put each other to bed (he arranges my sleep environment in the morning, I arrange his in the evening). Doesn’t matter when I’m working for the night because he can just sleep with the door open but we need to be able to close the doors when I’m going to bed for the day or when I’m home for the night so I don’t wake him up just by doing things. And they always wake up an hour or so in and decide they NEED. FOOD. RIGHT. NOW. LET. ME. OUT.
