Never understood the issue some people have with living in a house where someone died in. I’m sitting 4 feet away from where the previous owner of this house died, and the only spooky shit here is the half assed work the guy did to the place when he was still around.
Some people should not be allowed to have a hammer.
lol that sounds pretty bad. It’s hard to say which is the worst thing done to this place… maybe the fact that he lowered the roof after a fire from an actual 2 storey house to a 1 1/2 storey, and completely built over the porch (porch roof and all, which is still up there under the rest of the house. The porch doesn’t even have a proper foundation and he added a lot of weight to it, so now that corner of my place shifts with the seasons, making my front door jam sometimes, and pop open on it’s own other times.
When he died nobody knew for a while after, so at least I did get new flooring out of the deal. Problem is whoever did the flooring wasn’t much better at carpentry than he was… :/
Oh man. You win (if you can call it that). That’s the dangers of home ownership when you don’t buy brand new (not like buying brand new is any better).
It’s funny to even look at in my opinion… He did the work the absolute laziest way possible. You can still see the old roofline (complete with shingles) of the old porch sticking out of the wall. But the place cost less than the property was worth, so that kind of evens things out lol

The ceiling in my living room does not connect to the walls. In fact, the walls do not connect to the walls.
They abused the adage of “do your best and caulk the rest”.
And they couldn’t even do that right! They covered the ceiling issues with crown moulding and quarter round for the walls.
