Use stereo for the movie. Some apps, like Netflix (iirc) has a setting for that.

Check that the audio format of whatever you’re watching matches the output of your listening device. If you watch a movie using 5.1, but your TV is stereo, then yes all of the loud shit is going to be very loud and crowd out the dialog. This might not be the silver bullet for everyone, but it costs you nothing to check your settings.
I would be shocked (shocked, I say) if Hollywood wasn’t mostly a front for money laundering rings.
Wait… this isn’t satire?
~I really can’t tell these days.~
You’re absolutely right! Let’s see if we can find better ways to determine if something is AI-generated:
- what other styles are giveaways?
- maybe a combination of em dashes and bulleted lists?
- I’m running out of ideas for this joke.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•"Digital Signatures" just ask you to type your name into a box now. Am I right in thinking this almost-completely defeats the purpose of a signature?English
6·3 days agoYou might disagree, but that doesn’t mean you’re right. A signature does not require cursive. It doesn’t even have to be legible. It’s a mark that you make signifying that you agree to whatever it is you’re signing.

Any attention is better than no attention, right?
Yeah, but even when shit’s at its lowest, at least Lonliness got your back.
Seriously? I literally just started doing this myself. 😞

Just as much as AP had the “right” (not really*), everyone has their right to respond with criticism. And, AP has the right to face any and all legal consequences for their actions.

I mean, you wouldn’t let your dog smoke would you?
Depends on what they’re smoking and if they’re sharing.
What?

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•midas touch is a greek myth warning people about greed, yet we use it to describe someone who succeeds at what they do.English
1·13 days agoI look at it as we as a society have reinforced the lesson with our modern day use. Of course the lesson falls on deaf (greedy) ears.
Cheese is fine (in moderation). Grapes, onions, garlic, and chocolate are not. There may be others. Your vet should be able to confirm good and bad foods. Don’t use AI for this kind of advice.
The only ass showing seems to be coming from you. But I expect you won’t understand that at all.
Peace out dog. ✌️
The question was answered. You just asked a narrow-scoped yes or no question (with the expectation that people would read your mind and somehow know you wanted to know “why” as well). That is your fault, not theirs.
You asked a question about a belief and got an answer about somebody’s belief. And what did you do? You felt the need to swat down that answer because what? You think it wasn’t good enough? That’s garbage man.
