Just want to get some perspective on what people think of the American reaction. I’m NOT asking if it will happen. I’m asking what do you think Americans will do, if anything if this happens. Do you think people will just not care or protest on the streets?
Edit: What would your reaction would be? (even if not American)
It’s not going to happen. I don’t think you understand how nukes work nor the long term ramifications.
I’m sure myyass can educate me
lol reading that is like my name choices for ocarina of time.
I’d book the very first flight out of this shithole before nukes start dropping over here.
Will they though? Israel certainly wants us to think Iran is 2 weeks away from developing nuclear weapons… But does Iran actually have nukes? I suspect the CIA and/or Mossad might know if anyone outside of Iran’s leadership does. But given that there was a treaty between the US and Iran till Trump decided to break it and neither Obama nor Biden had any issue with Iran (after said deal by Obama), I suspect that Iran might even have been upholding its end of the deal until Trump’s shenanigans.
Neither Russia nor China will nuke the US on Iran’s behalf. China would never do a nuclear first strike against US and Putin would likely only do it (and potentially be overridden by officers with consciences) if he sees he’s going to be deposed for fucking up with the war in Ukraine in which case he might decide to just destroy the entire world. Or he might not, who the fuck knows. But I doubt he’d do it just for Iran’s sake.
lol americans wont do shit as usual ahahaha!
Nothing, absolutely nothing. Just look at the state America is in now. Epstein island, Trump president and ICE to name a few. Nothing much is happening.
So why would this particular event change anything? I don’t think Americans will do anything unless their own country is in immediate threat of being nuked and then again, most probably will just shout in void on the internet.
A majority of Americans appear to be mouth breathing knuckle draggers who enjoy watching blood sports and being aggressive toward minorities and foreigners.
So the reaction would probably be generally favorable.
I wonder how you came to that conclusion
As an American I sadly have to agree.
“How would the world react to USA nuking Iran?”
“As an American I would say America would react well to America nuking Iran.”
Happy September 11th everyone!
I thought the point of this entire thing was Iran can’t have nukes. Now we drop it on them and give them a live demonstration?
Well, we ARE the bad guys.
The same reaction when the US dropped non-nuclear bombs on Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, Afghanistan, Serbia, Bosnia… not only from this president. Americans don’t care about anything, they only care about money and how (dropping bombs on other people) will affect their income/taxes, nothing more. Non-Americans will protest (pro-Western people, whatever that means), some will call for a holy war against the devil-loving US, some will say nothing hoping they will be the next to do something similar (you know who), and the rest will simply be silenced.
If it means cheap gas, a few million will have to die.
The world will gasp and rend their garments. The usa will see this as winning a sports game of some sort.
Schumer will write a strongly worded memo complaining that it was just one nuke and not 50, and that the US must send monetary aid to Israel because they might get some radiation from our nukes. And, some rallies will be held in which ICE beats protesters en masse and kills a few. Same as always.
Mostly the same split on the war. What will change some pro war, or war tolerant, people’s opinions is direct consequences. Iran itself may be able to permanently destroy oil production/export capacity in region. Nazi empire colonies will continue their cowardice in pure demonic evil. But supposedly, China and Russia have set red lines including nuclear strikes on Israel, and sinking Navy. GCC colonies would likely break US alliance. These are the countries that help financialize US bubble the most. Their destruction/consequences alone would make them incapable of continuing to support US bubble.
Does $300 oil and a global economic depression cause people to pressure their countries/military establishement to coup Trump and Zionist supremacist supporters? Just because there has be some change in populist demonism for Israel, 50/50 on demonism towards China, the stupididity lock in for demonism against Russia and immigrants/races/personal freedom is divisive enough to be fatal.
It’s fair that global opinion of US would take a hit, as has Israel’s genocide on video over the last 2 years. But colonial rulerships need changing to cause change. The only difference between AfD and CDU is less suicidal demonism towards Russia.
I am shocked oil prices have remained so calm to this point. I don’t think Americans understand how serious this war is. The global depression is closer possibility every week this goes on. It’s Insanity and absolutely stupidity to be risking everything like this.
I used to make parts for the oil and gas industry. In one way, I know how serious this is.
Oil loading terminals and refineres do not work with shrapnel holes in them, they also don’t work when theyve been set on fire. Oil refineries are chock full of bespoke parts, some of which may take multiple years to replace. How much has been destroyed so far?
We are going to have to come to grips with the idea that oil doesn’t make sense anymore as a motor fuel. But that will be a lot smaller issue than the drop in fertilizer output.
They are actually very high, and going up $1-$2/bbl per day. Gasoline, jet fuel and diesel especially at extreme pricing, and housing prices now declining. Just continuing blockade leads to steady decline. Mutual destruction of $Bs of oil tankers accelerates global depression as capacity to ship oil around the world is part of oil dependence. Political movements against renewables no matter how high fuel gets is part of “democracy too dumb to function” incurable demonism.
But oil/fuel going up just a little every day gives a frog boiling effect. $10/day movements during first part of war made for shock effects and big headlines.
I think about 30% of the population would be exhilarated and rally around a false sense of righteous power. About 60% would be absolutely aghast and would make a lot of noise for a few weeks. Then they’d gradually settle into the comfort of being indignant without actually changing anything. After a while the American people would continue doing the same thing they’ve done for the last eight decades: inflicting violence on everyone for the enrichment of a few privileged oligarchs.
What about the last 10%? Unaware?
I don’t think Americans will react to anything unless it happens on their own soil for a change.
I don’t think we’ll react to things on our own soil anymore. There have been several moments in the last two years that should have been go-time for a country wide indefinite strike or anything. But every time somebody does something, the news cycle works its magic and gets us to fall in line. There are no more Luigi’s in America
The frog in the pot analogy comes to mind. Americans were sitting in the cold pot while trump stoked the fire under them. They’ve sat there largely content as the temp rises.
But if an attack was launched against the US it would be as if the frog was tossed into hot water. They would jump up and take action.
Now a nuke going off miles away might only raise a stir among the US population if the world sanctions the US.
The US dropping a nuke without consequences might encourage the UK to be bolder in its defence of the Falklands.
Pretty much describes the situation. That Falklands bit is wack too though. Crazy to think there are still places that if poor enough the UK will just be like “You know, maybe we DO still have a couple peasant colonies. Did they really earn the same sovereignty as India and Australia? Nobody will care”
Falklands were never fully settled until westerns came along around 1800. Spanish, US and finally Britain. All the people there voted to stay in UK
what percentage of the people populating the Falklands participated in that particular vote and where can I read more about this vote please?
Wait. I have this confused. This isn’t the island that one Argentinian cowboy claimed? I’m about to show my full ignorant ass here.
Edit: oh, this is the place I was thinking of. I just have not heard of this side of the narrative. Are the people that voted native Falklanders/Argentine or are they connected to that UK airbase on the island?
Everything I’ve read has it listed as abandoned and then settled first by the US and then Britain. No indigenous natives.
Ok, what do you think if a nuke went off in D.C.? Idk what most people would do honestly, probably still go into work the next day?
I don’t understand what people think they would otherwise do. Say you lived in Ukraine, Like 2.5% of their population are active duty. The other 97.5% of the population goes to work/school/etc the next day.
If your honest with yourself everyone age 1-17 and 35+ nothing too much would really change. More jobs would pop up manufacturing drones and such. Amount of males between 18-35 would decrease some, and for the most part life would go on. Oh and them wanting to add $1.5 trillion more dollars to the military budget would pass really quickly. If the U.S. put a deployment as large as Vietnam was these days, we wouldn’t even have 1% active duty.
Its show up to work or get fired and jobs are hard to come by. I dont know about the rest of you but I sure do like food.
911 will be a decent reference. Then that fear will be capitalized for state control and power consolidation, privacy invasion, ultimately making the world a worse place. The same playbook
Why would these sociopaths/amoral materialists care? They don’t even care when their own kids get shot up, as a whole, what price are they paying when it’s Iranian kids who get murdered? They don’t call America the Big Satan for no reason, the Anglo settler colony was built on genocide and slavery and these monsters’ descendants are either proud of it or quietly reap the rewards. There are like four good Americans, the rest are at best just useless and easily propagandised cattle.
There will be another toilet paper shortage, I can tell you that much
Blue States: Horror, protest in streets on the opposite side of the country in places Trump already knows are against him.
Red States: “Fuck yeah! About damn time!” (Proceeds to pay $17/gallon for gas to ‘own the libs’.)
Not a damn thing. Our population has no balls to stand up to oppression. We ARE the oppression.
