Everyone always screws that up. The Darwin award doesn’t just mean the person died from their own stupidity, it means they did the world a favor and removed themselves from the gene pool before passing on their genes. By that note, people who are unable to reproduce also cannot be eligible for the award.

Honestly, this doesn’t feel different to me than using the cross as a holy symbol for Christians. Both are very weird culty behaviours, but not much different. Although at least Christianity has the centuries long traditions, history, and international numbers to justify their behaviour. The tent thing without that context makes it extra weird.
