Hdr works on:
Kde.
Gamescope (can maybe be used for hdr if you don’t wanna use KDE)
Hdr is currently being worked on for gnome.

HDR support is there in KDE Plasma 6, works flawlessly for me
Functionality is a program by program thing, at least Wayland.
