Duh! I’m not sure if I read too fast or missed that part altogether. 😶
Thanks so much for showing me, and it’s still ridiculous, although if I were going to be deported to Africa, I can think of worse places to land! I would find it rather amusing if Traoré would take in deportees who want to come, find out their skills and give them jobs with a pathway to citizenship. I know the Burkinabe people have a lot of challenges that need to be addressed first, including security issues, but it’s still a nice dream.
I understand that, and you probably know how I feel about that already. I’m just asking if the USA is demanding Burkina Faso deport people who aren’t from the USA? Not that either is ok, but I suppose the USA can argue they have jurisdiction over their own citizens, but without an extradition treaty, Burkina Faso isn’t obligated to oblige, so too if the people the USA wants deported if they’re not USian.
Wait, this is people already on the African continent freely traveling of their own volition to Burkina Faso?
Oh hey, something for a FAQ! You have a mind like a steel trap!
I’m curious whether that pledge is more than platitude.
I’m so happy for the Burkina Faso. They’ve been through a lot and deserve an opportunity to be happy.
I had to look up palaver tree. Palaver is “meeting,” so the “meeting tree.” That sounds so lovely.
Oh wow. That means there’s a non-zero chance they’re lying about treating the extraordinarily renditioned well.
Edit: thank you for answering.
There’s a fine line between healthy skepticism and cynicism, and I aim to find it. Sometimes it seems more a tripwire.
