“Hate speech”
Israel is an illegal, illegitimate, settler-colonial project built upon genocide of indigenous Palestinians, the continued oppression of Palestinians, land theft, and really too much else to put into words.

Fucking losers and baby-brain morons over there who should’ve stayed on their hugbox website. Nothing I said there is glorifying the murder of literally anyone, but if you want to know why anyone got murdered, it’s very simple: lock people in a giant prison, starve them, bomb them, shoot them, deprive them of every necessity of life, and treat them as less than animals… and eventually they will say “fuck it. I’m going to die here anyway. I will make my oppressors feel a sliver of the pain I’ve felt.” And there you have it. Pretending or lying or focusing on recent small-in-comparison deaths of Israelis is just further attempts to dehumanize and justify genocide of Palestinians.
Mourning is absolutely fine. But when your “mourning” becomes “these animals did this!” That’s no longer ok or fine. You don’t get to blame the oppressed for fighting for freedom or for fighting to just make the oppressors feel bad. I know people get assmad over this fact, but the fact is, every person living in “Israel” is oppressing the people in Gaza (specifically, and elsewhere too). That makes them not “civilians” anymore than Germans feeding the Nazi forces were civilians. You can argue laws and morality all day long, but when it comes down to it, they all participated in it to some degree even by remaining in Israel when other options were available. Too many people want to play the “but my grandparents came here” card, which I understand to a degree. They didn’t ask to be born there, etc. But it is their responsibility to end the ongoing genocide, and if they don’t act to end it, these recent actions by Hamas showed the consequences of inaction. And if they genocide more, there’s only going to be more Israeli deaths. If the people truly value life on both sides or even just their own lives/families, then end the fucking apartheid state, reform Palestine and dissolve Israel. Admit that what was done there was an atrocity and reparations are due. None of this is saying “kill the Israeli Jews!” as those morons on reddit and world would claim. My solution, the one Palestinians and Arabs and many others worldwide want, is the one that leads to actual equitable peace, no more wars. Standing against ending apartheid, saying “they have a right to be mad” about Israelis, etc. is all in the opposite direction. No, I’m sorry, they do NOT have a right to be mad on a state level. Individually? Ok. Who cares. This isn’t about individuals being pissed off their baby died. This is about preventing anymore babies from dying and if you’re a sick piece of shit that thinks 1000 Israelis dying justifies bombing Gaza into nothing. Well, I can’t say, or shouldn’t say what should happen to people who say that.

I think he’s just incredibly stupid. When trying to figure out someone’s actions just consider what motivates them. Elon desperately wants people to adore him. He probably really thought he could buy a giant media-adjacent outlet and turn it into a machine to churn out pro-him propaganda. Obviously he misunderstood many variables though, the first of which being that unlike a newspaper or TV network, the owner of Twitter doesn’t create or really control the content created and put out. I mean, he can and does censor certain stuff now, and Twitter always has but in the past it did lean more towards banning Nazi shit which was better. But in general, people are gonna do what they and no matter how much he boosts his dedicated blue psychos it can’t overcome the that right wing shit just isn’t popular outside of a small subset of the people. You can’t make an entire website dedicated to advocating for the deaths of transkids and expect it to be popular. He bought into the BS hype around the right wing in general. They mistake rigging “democratic elections” (gerrymandering, voter suppression, etc.) as proof of their popularity. No, it just proves they can rig shit and people are ignorant and/or apathetic. Polling proves repeatedly that even burger munching Americans are pro-socialist type programs when not poisoned with the word itself (poisoned due to a life of indoctrination to get a knee jerk NO if they hear it).

Fair. I was just kinda thinking out loud via words. I guess I was mentally trying to tie a knot, or whatever, of why people (broadly, because this media is beloved after all) who are probably relatively decent people day to day enjoy this stuff. Why I enjoy it, for that matter. And that’s the best I could up with in addition to the obvious of the creators are purposely manipulating the audience into caring. My concern isn’t so much the empathy you can build through story telling though. That’s normal and fine. My issue is the people who walk away, think about it a little bit, and arrive at the conclusion that Daniel or Tony Soprano, etc. were the good guys or justified. That actually worries me a lot, tbh. Because it shows, probably, wtf do I know, either complete incompetence/ability to comprehend media (which, given, is a huge problem) or that the “American exceptionalism” Do what you gotta do! Speaking of me and 2007, you may be surprised, or not, to find out/remember that a lot of people kind of thought Plainview (I think that’s the character’s name. Been a while) as… an understandable guy. A guy who did bad things but it worked out as a positive eventually!
And no, I’m not joking. Yes, obviously Daniel is a morally repugnant person. But in a similar vein to that cliche line from Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men people really do believe there has to be bad men doing horrible shit but it benefits society in the long run.
So, my point is, while you characterize the movie correctly (basically just a camera following one of the biggest pieces of scum imaginable) many people saw it as an antihero film. Maybe even a “pull yourself up by the bootstraps, kill your friends, abandon your boy, drink a few milkshakes!” exaggerated tale of “doing what it takes to succeed.”
It’s basically that whole phenomenon of (mostly) men thinking Tony Soprano was the “good guy.” Or thinking Walter White was “good” and Skylar was a “removed.” (Still very commonly repeated even all these years later.)
I don’t think most viewers get the feeling you describe. Probably close to the opposite. “When Daniel kills his fake brother? oh boy! That fucker had it coming!” I dunno, something like that.

I have no idea if that site is owned by a legit dev or not. What I do know is the legit devs directly say on github, where the source code can be reviewed, to NOT download from any other place than github.

Use Firefox on desktop
Use Firefox (or Mull or Fennec- both are forks) on Android. I have Bromite too for times Firefox is being fucky.
On iOS unfortunately due to Apple’s (soon to be lifted) browser restrictions, the default Safari browser is basically as good as any other since Apple forces other browsers to basically just be reskins of Safari (forces webkit usage). I do recommend Firefox Focus if you want stronger, Brave-like adblocking without using Brave obviously. Focus seems to block close to the same level as ublock origin + Firefox on a desktop. It’s barebones by design though, so not ideal for everyone. I know Google/Mozilla are working on non-webkit Apple App Store approved browsers for next year when that law goes into effect (might not be available officially for NA users, not sure how that is gonna play out yet. Hopefully EU sues Apple for $100B for doing that if they do.) Hopefully that means official actual gecko based Firefox is coming fucking finally. Firefox with ublock is all I ever asked for. I’d even take Safari with actual ublock but unfortunately Apple is Apple, the annoying little fuckers.
See my problem with stories like this is everyone walks away thinking “the good thing happened.” But this isn’t a resolution. It’s halfway there. In a sane society if you make an obviously insane request like this for a bullshit and insane reason you should face consequences for even trying. Capitalism is inherently a wasteful of resources and also doesn’t value human life nor the planet’s life. The planet and people are just something to be exploited to enrich the top capitalists who contribute nothing.
It encourages planned obsolescence, short term profit making, and production of commodities which exist solely to turn profit, etc.
A socialist economy, if not being constantly undermined and sabotaged by the capitalist imperial core cough , would exist to meet the needs of the people, the workers. There is no capitalist class under this economy. All surplus value goes to some collective, the state usually, to be held and used in common for the betterment of the people who labored. If all countries adopted this outlook and abolished their capitalist classes and liberal democracies which exist solely to protect the capitalists, then all resources could/would go straight to necessary resource production. Things like food, housing, etc. would be met very quickly due to technology that already exists. This is absolutely not an issue. It’s only an issue due to hoarding, poor/zero distribution of resources under capitalism, and purposeful scarcity as a “disciplining” tool for labor.
Once basic needs are met, luxury commodities can also be created. This is where BUT NO IPHONE? VUVUZELA? comes in. People incorrectly attribute technological innovations to the economic system instead of realizing that 1) capitalism had absolutely nothing to do with smartphones or the internet existing and 2) these things would exist under a socialist economy as well, however the end result may look different simply due to a focus on things that last longer and aren’t meant to be chucked in the bin after 2 years. The only reason our gadgets die so quickly is so we can be sold more gadgets and this causes more surplus labor (profits) to be sucked into the capitalist class. Remove that thievish incentive and you remove the excessive waste associated with it while retaining better commodities that meet the desires of society in a “fair” way that doesn’t destroy the world for the benefit of the few.
Basically imagine a world run by those who labor and importantly a world not designed to simply suck all the profits of exploitative labor under bullshit made up reasons to the 1% and 0.1%. Some people call it utopian. To some, the idea of people cooperating, which is the “natural” state of man, instead of being at each other’s throats because some rich thieving class put them in that position, is inconceivable. And to those people, they should examine why it is they so readily accept the bullshit shoveled down to them from those with every incentive to kill them and the planet and why they dismiss so easily as “utopian” the most obvious solutions. “Oil companies are raping the earth to enrich a few people? What if we… didn’t have… oil companies…?” That logic is never allowed. And it’s worth asking why it is people don’t look to the simple answers that we can very clearly see would be better for the average person. Your “honest question” (ok dude) here is a perfect example of this fascinating phenomenon. You already knew the answer, yet something prevented you from embracing the solution and instead posting bad faith questions. Well, anyway, that’s a different topic, I suppose.

I think people forget/zoomers never knew, but Microsoft was once, rightly, one of the most hated corporations on earth. They were taken to court, in the United States!, for monopolistic practices. Microsoft’s name was basically equivalent to dogshit from the mid-90s until maybe the mid 2000s. Maybe 2010? Hard to put a finger on it. Windows 7 certainly did a lot to get people to calm down from a steady hate-boner.
I just wish, I fucking WISH, that if MS is gonna do this weird “make your pc your phone too! Dur hrr!” shit that they’d offer a Windows Lite ™️ edition where you can opt out of the little stupid assistant thing. No, Clippy, I don’t need help, fuck you very much. Let me opt out completely, without having to fuck with reg editor and CLI, from all types of ads, tracking, “offers for free shit,” all that shit. Just provide a barebones OS, let me add the programs I want, stop popping up telling me the .exe is a trojan sent to murder my dog just because you want me to download shit from your precious proprietary store, just stop all that shit. Something akin to Windows XP or Windows 7 type era. Neither OS was perfect and certainly many features in modern OSes are nice, but the simplicity found in them just because at the time they kind of HAD to be simple in order to function, is something I’d love for MS (and Apple too for that matter) to embrace.
But since none of that will happen, the next best thing I can hope is developers start making more and more programs run natively on Linux distro. Linux has come very far in my lifetime and I’m honestly excited that I can now use Linux basically for everything and only keep Windows installed as dual boot for a few specific tasks. I just hope it keeps growing in coming years. Hopefully demand from gamers for the steam deck and such drives more and more support for Linux. I can you one thing though… if my Windows updated and tells me “set up Moments! Click here!” I’m nuking that shit from orbit immediately. I don’t care what it does, I will never use any of that shit Microsoft packs into Windows. Probably sounds grump old man or whatever, but I just refuse. Stop adding dogshit no one asked for! This goes for basically all devs! Rant over, but I’m still pissed!
I recommend replacing the default launcher. Google has packed so many fucking ads into their paid-for devices that it blows the mind to see. A good replacement launcher removes all that junk and the device runs faster too as a result. I did it on my nvidia shield pro (runs Android TV) and a google tv/chromecast I have too. Made the shield basically flawless and the best entertainment experience and the google tv it made much more useable.
The launcher I’ve been using is called “projectivy launcher” for the google tv. There’s a giant post over on XDA with specifics if interested. It’s made my google tv much better and I’d recommend the small asspain to try it. (I’m not affiliated with the launcher team or anything I just like it a lot)
