Epics “free games” thing reminds me of a candy van. You gain more by staying away as who knows what the launcher does on your computer, they do have to make their money from somewhere and selling harvested user information would be quite neat way to make some money as a final fuck you if they start to go under. There is probably a reason they dont seem to care about making better platform.
Isn’t Steam a lot more feature-rich? I never made an Epic account, it always looked skeezy.

You are literally not missing much, because yes, Steam has so many more features than Epic.
Most features are within the embedded web view, though. Valve has frequently added or tweaked features without ever pushing a Steam client update.
