Sure, you can make this a hollistic approach regulating guns and ammo, but the ammo seems to be the bigger issue here. You can make guns easy peasy, but ammo is much harder to manufacture and easier to regulate.
Gun death is a made up term, there is no practical difference when people get shot to death, stabbed to death, strangled to death, bludgeoned to death. Your obsession with a single particular weapon in extremely unhealthy and points to other issues. People are killed with anything that can be used as a weapon. We have tens of millions of civilians that know to duck and cover at any given moment because of constant violence. They live in a continuous state of stress.
The US has been in a constant state of extreme violence because of gun proliferation. Over a million women have been shot by their partner, but don’t worry your solution is they shoot back. Double homicide assured.
I will never forget this family whose father came downstairs and blew his brains out in front of them on Christmas Day…so many stories of tragedy always because of one easily accessible tool.
