the last chokepoint is the suez canal, if the axis somehow manages to get a hold of it oil has nowhere to go. of course this is a non issue now since it isn’t flowing westward, but they’ll try to rebuild this pipeline every time they can. we’ll start feeling the oil prices for real now, tho.
That would the pretext Israel needs to invade Sinai. The US and Germany will condemn while providing it with the weapons to do so, and Egypt reliant on US aid will sit back and watch.
