  • i miss the ease of buying new hardware.

everything is optimized for windows and linux works on it too, but it’s not optimized and something about getting less performance than paid for irks me (especially w battery life).

so every time i need to buy new hardware, i have to either spend weeks investigating potential purchases or i have to spend A LOT more money to buy from system76, tuxedo, etc.

i didn’t do that this time around to learn what it’s like to put linux on a windows laptop like i used to do back in the early 2000’s and linux (of course) works, but its battery life is terrible compared to windows on the same laptop and my work macbook.

next time i’ll buy from tuxedo.

  • @obelix@obelix@lemmy.world this explains why they’re making age verification a thing on both social media and operating systems as well as capturing “rogue” platforms the become sufficiently significant enough like tiktok.

if they can prevent the youth from obtaining information that contradicts the indoctrination they’re getting from their environment; they can control the narrative and discourse in the future.

  • my experiences have taught me that an overwhelming majority fo people mimic the behavior that they’ve seen others perform (and mostly from tv/movies) and this conclusion gets reinforced every time an “A-list” bottom rejects me at first and then later invites me in when their expectations and/or selectiveness inevitably leaves them wanting. the amount of time it takes for this to happen varies from person to person and the experience (or lack thereof) they’re having at the moment, but it always eventually comes.

i’ve also learned that we’re taught to form expectations around things like romance and classifications of people (ie E-list, C-list, hot) that only have surface level at best relationship to reality, but we’re still conditioned to HEAVILY prize nonetheless. like a ruling class, there certainly are people who benefit from these expectations, but it’s as much luck as it is effort (if not more so).

it also took years of therapy for me to realize all this after also mimicking the kind of partnering we’re all conditioned to expect from ourselves and others and i doubt very much that i would have had any of these realizations if my mind and body had the same responses/reactions that most people seem to have from social and physical interactions.

Does El Calientador correspond to Heath Burns in English?

it literally translates to heater, but a specific or favorite one (or atleast it does in mexican border spanish from the 1950/60’s) and your translation is accurate in other spanish variations and also because you can get burned if you don’t take common sense precaution with it, but you can get warmth from it if you need or need it. i feel that this describes me.

  • el calientador. i feed off of the intense levels of energy i get from the masses of community bottoms due to the sheer volume of their existence and it’s a symbiotic relationship as each interaction fulfills our respective needs.

from it i gain insights into the human condition that helps me understand the world that could not have happened otherwise.

it’s given me back doors (pun not intended) to realities of human existence that are so HEAVILY guarded off otherwise that most believe that i’m making it up and it puts a smile on my face every single time someone not so inclined rejects what i’ve shared with them.

i don’t think i’ll ever stop being surprised by how much access you get just from some basic human horniness. lol. i would be a unstoppable if i had the conventional attractiveness of movie stars and a neurotypical mind.
