On snoosite users are also communities where the user can exclusively post. I think this is pretty awesome feature and would seemingly make mastodon federation make more sense.

Here’s the issue for user-following..
Its very far down the road though, we want to get community following, and every federated action around it solid, before we start tackling that.
I think that’s a good plan. User following is a great feature but not as prominent as those others you mentioned.
