If there were no other options between those two apps for lemmy, which one would be your go to?
Since no one mentioned this: Jerboa simply because it’s FOSS.
Seriously. Open source OS and server, but hey, let me just connect the two with a proprietary app.
Boost. It was my go to on reddit for 6+ years. The developer is solo and has a fantastic user interface. Jerboa is clunky and slow. Wasn’t a fan.
Jerboa. I tried Boost but don’t remember it, Jerboa I still have installed and use occasionally.
Is there a reason you’re limited to one or the other? There’s a bunch of different Lemmy apps out there that are great besides just those two.
I guess the only reason is because there are so many. Let’s say we lost most of those options, and those were the only two contenders line which would you choose. That’s all
Jerboa.
I already use it and have never heard of Boost.
I started with Jerboa for a few months but I think I’ve settled in Connect now. If I had to pick between Jerboa and Boost though I’d pick Jerboa.
I use Jerboa regularly, it’s my jam. But I don’t know why we’d need to limit ourselves to two anyway, even hypothetically. The myriad of apps with various features is Lemmy’s and the Fediverse’s strength.
Jerboa, I’ve looked at a few but Jerboa was the first one and I’ve got used to it.
Jerboa. It does the job, and does it well. Boost is slightly better for my needs, but not enough to overcome the non-free aspect.
The one with the Jerboa
Out of those 2 options, I’d choose Voyager
I switched away from Boost after it no longer worked with certain instances. I’m not sure if it’s a dead project or what, but it gets no updates.
It was updated last week.
This is what half my communities look like
If you care enough too you should submit it as a bug (if you haven’t). It’s for sure not a dead project.
Good idea! I’ll leave a comment on their lemmy communit-oh
I’ve just switched to FOSS app.
