Check the conferences and publication
Check the citations (this guy self-cites a lot, which is typically endemic of someone who is playing the game and is not legitimate)
Check the references (this a big point of failure, especially with this paper)
Check collaborators, he doesn’t collaborate with anyone else on this matter or any other research group (Usually indicates no one is looking over his work or no one wants to be associated with this rubbish)
The author is incredibly pro-russian as noted by his social media activity (so much for an academic attempting to be impartial) (Go check his twitter)
Half of his references don’t even work anymore or don’t even lead to what he is quoting. The references that he is giving a lot of weight to is usually some facebook post of which there is not enough evidence to suggest where it originates from or if the author is attempt to make fake data (there is already a pattern of dishonesty with this academic, I wouldn’t be surprised). Other references are usually just an article to another media organisation that don’t support his position.
More to the point, the article boils down to 'I found some clippings on western media outlets that I can use to support my argument, I found some discrepancies and then I therefore have concluded that Maidan was false flag by the west". In which the last part is a stretch by any imagination when the evidence given are incredibly weak and have multiple angles which had not even been considered.

If you read the Jacobin article you would have found in one of the first paragraphs, discussion of opportunism of the right wing extremism you didn’t even mention when I noted that invasion usually spurs extremist movements. You are attempting to throw some ‘research’ paper as some way to garner a little level of legitimacy to your bullshit argument.
