Please explain in simple terms without big obscure words. Decision making on a political is way more complex and depending on context in my view than these 2 words can describe!

This is in now way an official definition, but to me, Right and Left can be explained by adding two prefixes to part of a word:
clusive
The Left is all about being INclusive. The Right is all about EXclusive, in all senses of the word.
Alongside Left and RIght, there’s also Authoritarian, and Libertarian - how much power the state has, versus how much freedom an individual has. See politicalcompass.org/ They also have a questionnaire which if you can answer honestly, will tell you where you fit in the political spectrum.
Interesting
I still find this to be a billion times simplistic than politics should really be!
:) You’re not a million miles away from where I am…
Politics is just the expression of human attitude.
Humans have a powerful survival instinct - to look after Number 1. We’re probably all born Right-Libertarian, and have Authoritarian influences through childhood which moulds us.
It’s a matter of persuasion that it’s actually in everyone’s best interest to look out for / uphold one another: the concept of Ubuntu (not the OS).
