It depends on what you interpret kneeling to mean. In the US, kneeling for the flag or kneeling for the national anthem is a form of protest when tradition dictates that you should stand with your hand over your heart. If would be a good meme if it actually made reference to Kaepernick. Kneeling for a symbol is historically honorary, so without Kaepernick the meme is ambiguous. It wasn’t so much that Kaepernick was kneeling, it was that he was not standing for the flag with everyone else.
