Marxist-Leninists are not radical leftists. Do you even know what socialism is (no do not parrot the economics definition)? Do you know how many divisions exist between socialist left? What makes you such a pompous and loud person to talk on the subject, when you know nothing about such a deep subject? Westerners are so arrogant, intellectually disgusting and unhinged and do not know when to shut up.

There is nothing like this even on Lemmygrad. People there do not believe, they prefer dissecting through Cold War parroting. Liberals being Cold War McCarthyist parrots is a common phenomenon and should not be surprising. They are useful idiots.

Have you ever considered analysing the TV news you consumed from western propaganda news outlets regarding “communism”? Or is it just parroting without criticising the source of “communism bad” propaganda, or trying to self criticise your position? Have you ever considered what is critical thinking, or does it feel nice to have trolling privileges while you relax in your gaming chair slinging shit on leftists?

I did not know other people could not shut down BS that gets spouted by ignoramuses or malicious state propagandists.

You are the same redditor who loves r/worldnews and reddit frontpage chock filled with USA news 24/7/365. You are so used to living in your privileged echo chamber, that you cannot believe people outside of USA are not obsessed with koolaid culture, let alone talking critically and positively about non-USA/Europe countries.

Do not try to pretend and grift too much, you will slip and fall on your face. Enlightened centrism with a sprinkle of leftism does not work very well.

When USA can have a China puppet government, just like US puppet DPP exists in Taiwan (part of China BTW), we can talk about legitimacy crisis. I wonder if Confederate States once again united to divide USA, how would Americans talk to outsiders having nuanced conversations, considering, losing to China in all kinds of fields already makes their citizens wish for nukes.

Criticise any NATO supporting neoliberal or neoconservative westerner to the point they stop consenting to genocides and foreign interventions. Stop letting westerners be xenophobic racists against China/Russia. The death of western imperialism is the death of capitalism.

Edit: 1 minute and a downvote, seems like I hit the centre of the dart board. Anyone who hates China/Russia is a very nice way to filter out bad apples and ignoramuses.

the biggest hurdle to you making changes to your life

Have you not realised yet, how unreasonable is it for people to obsess over food instead of other things? Veganism is a lifestyle and becomes something to obsess about in daily life, due to the lack of calorie dense non-fat foods compared to meat/dairy, and its just a whole lot effort to do anything. Stop selling it as 10 minutes, this liberal behaviour exists with products like Nestlé Maggi 2-minute noodles where nobody ever cooked them in 2 minutes.

I will inch towards making those changes, but not at the cost of revolving my life around veganism lifestyle and habits. This is not an issue with omnivore way of eating, where I can adjust on a gradient how much dairy and meat I eat to cover for vegan macro and micro nutritional deficiencies.

Uncensored DNS, one of my all time favourite recommendations.

Its obvious to me who downvotes on the internet, it was me, not you. I prefer my gut feeling about things, even if something has been said by some people. It helps me wait and see the outcome better.

Appreciated. I want to see more studies over time to form a position on our current understanding of the food protein sciences.

I would prefer going through the study instead of taking the summary at face value. The study is heavily paywalled, and I will retain the findings of DIAAS and PDCAAS being relevant in case of plant proteins.

I would also argue about oat protein not being as bioavailable as 4 parts whey 1 part casein protein exists in dairy milk. Casein and whey are twice as bioavailable as plant proteins, which brings in the requirement of pairing up a protein rich meal.

Keep drinking disgusting cows milk.

These are the kind of reasons why vegans will never be able to convince people. Go on. That advocacy is surely working.

Because I do not want to cook up another thing besides my meals? Because I want to put my brain towards other things?

Firefox with uBlock Origin hard mode across Android, Linux and Windows, and strong systemwide HOSTS blocking and a good DNS provider. Fallback option is Firefox profile with uBlock Origin easy mode in the rare scenario website with whitelisting subdomains will not work.

Ungoogled Chromium is touched once or twice a year atmost.

Nobody has the time to do that. I am not going to put that much work (and that is not laziness) in manually making oat milk when I have a million other things to think, manage and do. This mindset will absolutely never help adoption of more vegan practices. I am all for inching towards less meat/animal related foods but it has to be viable, optimal and must not be a nutritional compromise (protein combining with one compact meal is fair).

The one I am tasting right now, is a Thailand import. Oat milk is absolutely the closest of plant milks to replicate milk taste, and I can see why the only difference is due to lactose. Mixing a couple teaspoons of powdered sugar makes it sweet fantastic, and the only issue I see is cost.

Cows are also kept under “humane” conditions. Amul is the largest dairy of Asia and the second largest behind Danone globally, and they are a socialist cooperative of women.

Not to rain on the parade, but plant milks are astronomically expensive compared to dairy milk. Plant milks need to become way cheaper than currently 5x the cost for me in India. There is only import, no local making.

It is better to not discuss what you browse on Tor, considering the sensitive nature of it, plus illegal material that exists. If you can roam around silently without honeypotting yourself and learning and enjoying your time, I see it as a net positive.

Archivist is arguably the head of data hoarders that exist on internet today. He has messaged you above in the thread. My job is done.

They messaged you, and have got no response, waiting.

https://old.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/13yigdh/a_proposal_message_to_mods_do_you_want_to_have_a/

Can you clarify the pinned mod’s question, and the questions related to porn hoarding in other comment? Also, visual UI element bloat is making many people unhappy.

I seemed to have mixed binding and VPN provider credibility in a hurry. Sorry for that. So, port forwarding gets you more seeds/peers during torrenting, and lacking that affects torrenting.

Not sure, I have data hoarded so many things which I can stick to, combined with Russian pirate portals and good ol VirusTotal and KVRT offline scans. Usenet is way down the consideration list.

I was asked this. Please discuss it swiftly.

I’m confused. Help me out lemmy users/runners. It says “No Porn” on the homepage. But during sign up there’s a tickbox to “Show NSFW content” ?
So…only non-porn NSFW content is allowed?
Would lemmy.ml consider audio “porn” as porn? Or merely NSFW?
Because if there are communities on reddit that I want to still have access to via RSS and json after the API change, it’d be r/gonewildaudio r/gonewildaudible r/audiosgonewild r/darksideplayground r/PillowTalkaudio r/KinkyPillowTalkAudio r/eroticliterature r/GWASapphic r/gwascriptguild r/GoneWildAudioGay r/sexystories As this is a FOSS project, I presume only the lemmy.ml instance doesn’t allow porn?
Is there a Q&A style lemmy instance finder that does allow porn a la https://instances.social/ ?
Because https://join-lemmy.org/instances is all I could find and that doesn’t seem helpful.
How do I find the most popular porn supported instance? Thanks.

This was a message sent to me. The point they were trying make besides this is regarding archival of porn content being considered as NSFW. Also I am seeing massive complaint about Lemmy UI being very visually bloated compared to old.reddit.com, which is putting off many users, reminding them of the new.reddit.com travesty.

Mullvad has stopped providing port forwarding, which means torrenting can leak IP often enough to endanger users.

Edit: I made a minor mistake in a hurry, port forwarding affects torrenting in that you connect to less seeds/peers, although you could still bind it to your torrent client.

I am hurrying up as much as I can, and also being a Lemmy watchdog to see the instances popping up and user traffic. I will try getting them onboard.

I highlighted the top VPNs courtesy r/vpntorrents. https://lemmy.ml/comment/439232

Being able to archive is the most important factor. My point is to hurry up and, if needed, deprioritise other things in life. This time, and internet in its current state, is never coming back. This is not a paranoid doomer brain, this is reality, and we are witnessing it right now in realtime.

Energized GitHub has been unmaintained since few months, and is showing 404 error on HOSTS files. Here is a copy of Energized Ultimate HOSTS file, and alternative HOSTS ruleset providers to consider.

I prefer having both HOSTS ruleset systemwide and a DNS provider, then whatever network firewalling/tunnelling is needed.

I have always wanted to ask such questions, as such projects come from a different kind of crowd, internet anarchists with a free world utopia in mind. Since these projects are also used by Chinese netizens, what do people think about this? While Tor Project was DARPA made, many people benefit from it. Same goes for internet preservation projects, since internet is largely a creation of West. I seek the perspective of native mainlanders and Chinese born here importantly, because I have not seen this being discussed anywhere. Edit: I hate how armchair westerners have an issue with letting this topic be discussed calmly.

The amount of Russophobia and anti Russian censorship ongoing currently on Reddit is astounding.
I am observing a very similar sentiment to Sinophobia, now regarding Russia. Reddit's audience is primarily 80% USA + West EU, and the rest 20% also includes a lot of East Europe and other countries, leaving for 5-10% anti-hatred people. On the other hand, Western world makes up for a mere 12% of the world's population. This speaks volumes about how majoritarianism is flipped on the internet by Western world to suit their narratives and loudmouth whatever they want dominating in virtual space. And since moderators are also from said Western countries, the biases are completely intentional and systematic. For all the "human rights" and "no censorship" nonsense these Western countries spout with the assumption of having high horse on moral grounds, they lie a lot systematically. Just an observation.

What are easy to present criticisms of mainstream outlets like BBC and CNN?
While it is easy to use phrases like "use critical thinking", this is not easy for elders or cousins in families to be told, as this is not lucid to understand in a snap. It is essential for criticism to be easily communicable to ordinary people that watch Google Feed or MSN News daily, and I feel that such criticism is not even easy to access or read, considering ordinary people have been cornered from MSM, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and rest of Big Tech and Western media apparatus. If you love your BBC and CNN feeds, avoid this post, this is not for you.

[TINY GUIDE] How to stay safe from Pegasus and most social engineering malware these days
cross-posted from: https://lemmy.ml/post/74540 > Hello! I think it is a nice time to re-mention some 101 tips of IT security for folks here, that I also practice. Pegasus malware investigation will be big news for a good while, so the more awareness it helps spread, the better. > > # RULE 1 > > DO NOT CLICK ON RANDOM SMS AND EMAIL LINKS. Please, do not do this, ever. Just do not do it. Do not do it. Do not do it. Do not do it. > > Yes, that is how many times I repeated that line. Basically, this rule is similar to keeping off AutoPlay for external USB sticks on Windows computers. > > # RULE 3 > > Avoid using popular software too much. > > I get it, this is a hard rule to workaround considering how much we need to use WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram and so on, so it is a lot better to compartmentalise your activities among multiple messengers. > > Pegasus and a lot of specialised malware uses zero-days to be able to design zero click deployment tricks, which is what these government surveillance tools are good at reserving. They use their millions of dollars of funding and R&D properly, so you have to be careful. > > As an example, try to keep WhatsApp internet turned off most of the times via NetGuard, and turn it on only when needed, a good method I have earlier suggested as well in my smartphone hardening guide. > > # CONCLUSION > > Those were some thoughts on the top of my head, before I go to sleep. Stay safe against surveillance! And feel free to ask whatever you want to!

Why does Lemmy look so wholesome even without the garbage stuff and gild award tokens? Why is there a lack of (retro and pre 2010) gaming discussions?

Brainstorm time: Why do non-West country users have less participation on discussion forums? (Read text for context)
The USA/West-EU countries make up about 12% of the world's population, yet have about 80% participation on Reddit. Statistics do not differ much for other sites, as I used to have a decent non-anonymous tech blog years ago, where Google and WordPress offered me similar statistics of 70-75% of the visitors being from the Anglosphere. Is it because the citizens of these countries are drenched in individualist capitalist societal culture, and easier access to fast internet? What else could be the reasons, and cultural cues? I have felt that it is the core reason for this chaos and toxicity on the internet, where this very kind of immoral self-centered culture became a virtual hegemony over the decades. It is a thought that strikes my mind often, as someone from India/Asia, and there is almost non existent discussion about this anywhere.

I assisted admins, caught and got banned over the past week a user noobda, who created accounts noobde, noobdaREBRN and now noobrao. A few hours later now, I see 3-4 downvotes on every single comment of mine in the past week, and have gotten repeated death threats in PMs, likely by this very person. Is an IP address or IP range ban a good solution, that admins should consider implementing besides report option? I feel incredibly harassed here at Lemmy, though nothing common, where reddit users have abuse reported me to seek suicide prevention helpline, among many things.
