I hope my comment is not seen as pretentious but we need more videos like this for people who do not have the capacity to read and understand works of Marx, Engels and other socialist figures.

We like to shit on a lot of people for being ‘dumb’ capitalist defenders, but we have to remind ourselves that works like Capital and such can be thick fucking pills with complex explanations.

My father, for example, is a proper working class man who grew up poor and had no chance to go to college. He’s been working since 15/16 and through hard work managed to provide for me and my brother so that we did have the chance to study.

Politically, he has always been an easy prey for populist, more right wing politicians despite that not being in his best interest. He just never had the capacity to see the bigger picture. He did alway view me as smart so when I started going the communist way, he wanted to listen to what I had to say about it. Explaining things in Marx his way would not have a great effect, so I chose to simplify stuff for him and after a while he started to put things together. He even texted me after the last elections saying he voted for a Labour Party because he was convinced by my views on things.

It’s important to keep explaining socialism to as much people as possible because being mad at everyone to the right of communism is not going to help our cause. There are millions of people like my dad out there who, in their heart, are communist but just don’t know it for a variety of reasons. They can be won over to our side. Videos like this help with that.
