Reuters reports that around 100 people made it into the construction site, with some scaling a crane to place a “fuck AI” banner. Protesters also unfurled a “Microsoft powers genocide” banner on the construction site, and chanted “Microsoft has got to go” and “free Palestine.”
Time to steal all of our data back. They stole it first.
Just like the luddites.
The Luddites were right though
Lekker bezig

ITT a bunch of bot accounts trolling people and farming upvotes on their troll accounts.
I’m not unsympathetic to their cause, but I do expect that each and every one of these protesters then also boycotts all of Microsoft’s products; otherwise it would be hypocritical. In the end, that, if done en masse, will hit them harder than some banners…
I demand perfection, pluck out your eyes
If people routinely break into construction sites, it puts their insurance, security, etc costs up significantly. In the UK factory’s that made parts for drones ended up shutting down over rising insurance costs.
Breaking into a building is not a protest, it’s a crime.
as if those are mutually exclusive
When I read protest my mind doesn’t go to ‘break and enter’.
demonstrations with signs and chants in the street are the simplest form of protest and ideally would be the only one necessary. if they’re not backed-up by the threat of more disruptive and direct action, they’re toothless and ineffective. protesting is the whole thing, and since the power systems don’t usually give a shit to the first and kinder stages of protesting, it becomes necessary to venture into the realm of “cRiMe”
the definition of crime is arbitrary and subject to change and not really relevant to the definition of protest
What a load of dribble.

Luddites never change.
Luddites opposed child labour.
And Hitler was opposed to animal cruelty, but we’re not gonna say that was a key part of his politics, are we?
Except opposing child labour was the key part of their politics and it’s what you were referencing.
As long as you believe it.
2-year-old account and this is your very first comment?
these websites need up/downvotes for users (not just comments) to identify shills like this
Yeah, I registered my account a very long time ago and haven’t used this site. Is that a problem for you? Do I really need to explain this?
Sorry for not spending my life on this.

Ludd for president! He’s got my vote! I’m voting Ludd!
That’s exactly why it would be a good idea to introduce an intellectual qualification for voters.
That’s not the best way to do it.
Let them build > Nationalize the shit
LLMs are a waste of money. Don’t waste tacoayer dollars
