Saves your guests from needing to figure out you’ve outsourced your personality, I guess

Nah, this seems like it would circle back around to implying a personality, given the amount of work involved in this (they look like real paintings to me). It’s a nice house with a pretty view, but they probably don’t have the kind of money you need to commission over a dozen very skilled paintings. That likely means that they’re painting them themselves, and that’s a hell of a lot more interesting than most people’s hobbies.

Like, why spend so much time on… this? Is it truly just for the meme? That’s weirdly self-sacrificing: they’re essentially spending months if not years of their time painting these just to bring a slight smile to a bunch of people’s faces. I don’t know if the utilitarian math works out there, but for him it’s definitely a loss. Is this gif itself a piece of art, representing an aspect of society with a bland and hollow house filled with memetic art placed in a landscape that looks like it used to be wilderness?

I have a feeling I’d either have a great conversation with them or I’d send them into an existential spiral (not my intention, but looking at those questions from the perspective of someone who is proud of their house and homemade art which they find fulfilling… yeeesh).

Or they’re not real paintings, lol

I do too, but I don’t like them enough to spend even a whole day making a representation of one (hell, sometimes I just describe to someone what a meme would be like instead of going to the trouble of a few minutes’ work to make it). We’ve all got different levels of tolerance for that, but do they amuse you enough for months-years of effort?

I mean, yeah, but why choose memes? Do they literally just like looking at them (for hundreds of hours)? If so, why- as in what feeling do they get when they look at memes? Have memes played a significant role in their life? Are they making a statement about the world- and if so, what?

That’s one way of seeing it! I’d be interested in hearing more about their thoughts in that case. If they weren’t considering that, I’d want to know what their motivations were.

The only thing I’m saying here is that I don’t think this person has no personality. Even if they were just doing it for the meme, there’s something deeper there.

I don’t here anything different from the original aside from the volume fade-in at the start?

The one thing more tiring than a stream of AI-generated content is a feed of real content with people baselessly commenting that it’s AI. Your broad complaint is valid but it’s misplaced so often that it’s utterly fucking exhausting – please be more judicious.

Since you brought it up, I never once accused op of posting AI content. In fact, you’d be hard pressed to find any comment I’ve made accusing anyone of posting AI, and if by chance I did it was very few and very far between. What I did say, Mr. Judicious, is that it feels oddly like AI. And I even stated why in response to OP. That is a huge leap to accusations of AI.

I did watch it. Tell me about that dining room lighting situation. And those pixelized pictures; only the pixelized pictures, because everything else was fine.

It’s a 39 second unbroken shot with consistent movement, geometry, and reflections. Video compression and slightly tacky architecture ≠ AI.

The AI detective is on the case! I’m sure it will be solved and not devolve into an argument. It looked like either a stabilizer on his camera or in post.
