Man, the internet has really just become a propaganda and advertising machine for a handful of billionaires, hasn’t it? There’s no fixing this, is there?
If there is a christian god out there, now would be the appropriate time for a great flood to do a full reboot. You there god? At least give us a sign?
Why does everyone have to die, just because a handful of evil villains have taken over, tho. Surely an omnipresent god can do direct targeting… some well aimed lighting bolts should do it, yeah? Maybe the pre Christian version of the Christian god, Odin will be more helpful to call on?
I think there’ll be a limited reaction as time goes on, these days you see a fair few people getting fed up with the internet as it is now. I switched to an e-ink phone recently and loads of people on knowing they exist seem keen for one for example, people know Big Tech’s products are generally bad for them at the end of the day. People who are okay with the doom feed of algorithmic propaganda and slop will stick with it, but dissatisfaction has produced some pretty impressive efforts, this platform included.
