Mine is simply banana.
Banana is hard to beat for convenience. I’d say a close second for me is either mixed nuts or sumo oranges
Those little sumo oranges are so tasty!
Nuts.
Also nuts but I prefer raw or at least unsalted. Cashews, almonds, pecans, walnuts
String cheese
things you can say while the europeans are asleep
Hahahaha didn’t even think about that!
Maybe I should’ve said a spoonful of peanut butter as well ;)
Your existence actually kind of makes me happy.
<3
Bananas are good. I like yogurt as well when I have it. Lately in the convenience but not healthy is a single Hawaiian roll because they help with my stomach acid problem.
Ohh. That’s smart. I might steal that
One roll is probably healthy. A bag of rolls is probably not. :)
My kids keep asking me to make bread again but I put away the bread machine for good reason. My health couldn’t afford it
That was always our weekend tradition: start the machine after dinner and settle in for a night of gaming, and have hot freshly made bread as a midnight snack. The problem is there was never anything left over from a loaf
I’m pretty sure that’s just a function of fresh bread. lol.
My mom used to make quick Sally Lunn and hot chocolate on Christmas Eve. I always hated that because there was just one smallish loaf and it goes fast with three people, but I loved it because it was so good.
But it was part of a carb journey before I learned what carbs were that led me to a decade of unmanaged diabetes that’s given me seven heart attacks, a below-knee emptuation, kidney failure leaving my on dialysis, and oh so much more “fun”.
So yeah. I get it on bread. lol.
Also, not venting to you but since I’m here - the downvote on my comment above, which boils down to the general principle of “everything in moderation”, just makes me roll (har har, didn’t intend that pun but saw it soon as I typed it so leaving it) my eyes at lemmy. I need to find something that hides voting because it only pisses me off. lol.
I make a big batch of tasty high-fiber granola and keep it in the freezer. Almost every day I have some with Greek yogurt and berries.
Smart, yogurt and berries are massive in terms of health.
Oats. We do a two-day oat diet a few times a year, with three meals a day consisting of 80g of oats and half a liter of tea or broth.
Whole jar of pickles? That’s probably healthy, right?

Prunes, I also really like freeze dried strawberries and buy bags of that when they have them at costco
Chia seed “pudding”, but with water to make them expand. I’ll eat plain if particularly pressed for time. Usually I add granola or some maple syrup for flavor.
Ka prao, green curry, tuna salad with bits of apple and pickle, skin on chicken in a dutch oven with a pan sauce. All of these take 10 minutes to an hour in the case of the dutch oven. I cook rice in a rice cooker consistantly so I always have some rice in the fridge I can add to whatever asian dish I’m currently in the mood to make. Those are pretty fast. Also, I’d highly recommend making large amounts of food and freezing the left overs in deli cups.
Cold milk with oats, vanilla, and monk fruit sweetener
Frozen strawberries (reheated in the microwave), Greek yoghurt, and banana
Wholemeal spaghetti with broccoli and feta cheese
Hummus and carrot. I don’t bother julienning or peeling and just raw dog it
French toast with garlic powder and cheddar used to be my favourite but I’m having trouble finding bread I can safely eat anymore
Y’all sleeping on GORP
Either frozen grapes or apples & pb
Health is relative, but it works for me: some black olives, sweet gherkins, pickled beet slices, a good cheese, and a few nice crackers. Nice variety. Not too bad on carbs or sodium if you’re not too greedy.
Grapes! Sweet and crunchy. Perfection
