I live in Manitoba. I could not hit the up vote fast enough.

Guys have you seen our fields? We got fields.

Yeah living here is dull as fuck, but here’s a great story, I was driving on the highway 30 years ago and I saw a man stopped and staring out into a field. I had assumed he had car troubles and was staring out into the field in exhaustion, and I was stopping to be compassionate. He explained that he was visiting from China on a conference, and he had opportunity to rent a car. He was just staring into the canola fields, because he had never seen anything like that in his life - his reality was living in a highly congested city where a postage stamp of sky was visible for 18 seconds a day behind the smog & skyscrapers.

I did my M.Sc there, and lived there for 3 years, so i am allowed to shit on the province too lol.

It’s pretty in its own right, and the small towns can have their own charm, but it’s not for everyone.

Usually the jokes are about Saskatchewan, but Manitoba is substantially flatter. Much of Manitoba was the lakebed of glacial lake Agassiz - the largest lake to have existed in north america, and about 50 times the size of Missoula. When the ice dams broke, Lake Agassiz dumped so much fresh water into the North Atlantic that it disrupted global ocean currents, triggering a period of rapid global cooling known as the Younger Dryas.

Fun fact, if look up Niverville MB on the map (just outside of Winnipeg) you can see iceberg scours still present on the landscape - this is where icebergs scraped the bottom of the lake.
