I was today years old when I realized that we indeed fall into darkness for several months and then spring back into the light.
As a light skinned person in a warm climate, this but unironically.
I quite like the significance placed on the “turning on of the lamp” in moomins books to signal the start of autumn. Dark!

Are you a bot? Because I too live in Arizona; I’ve been enjoying all the rain we had last week, and the lovely 95° temps it left behind in its wake. It usually doesn’t drop below 100° until November here, so this early autumn weather is a nice change of pace for once.
