@bekkaboo@girlcock.club Linux itself is heavily using AI models. Therefore, every Linux distribution moving to recent kernel versions is heavily built on top of using AI models. Creating a Linux distribution not heavily using it would require a hard fork of the Linux kernel and many other projects.
It's unclear what would be accomplished by banning AI for a tiny portion of the code while continuing to use Linux, AOSP, Chromium and hundreds of other projects heavily using it. We'd still be benefiting from it.
GrapheneOS is currently defending its use of AI coding tools on Mastodon against complaints by various accounts claiming to be users.
We do not understand where you’re coming from or why you’re so incredibly angry with us. It’s not justified and does not make sense.
A large number of people are using it as an opportunity to promote using operating systems which are the direct opposite of hardened and are much more heavily using AI models including for a lot of code generation.
LineageOS is certainly using it. CalyxOS, /e/ and iodéOS are based on it. CalyxOS is developed by LineageOS core developers.
Since LLMs are essentially built from code, I have an easier time believing that coders can get a benefit, especially at the Individual level, within the frame of having a coding background and being able to audit, directly, the code that the machine spits out. But basically everything else happening with, and surrounding, these fucking things is atrocious.
Well, I hardly use my PC and was just forced to get one for a job to do email bullshit, so in my day to day, yes. And Ive been exploring getting a basic ass flipphone and a atlas instead of relying on googles shit GPS system, I already use OSM instead but still.
Cool well I’ll keep using Lineage until they become massive piles of steaming crap as well.
Fuck AI and all you silicon ball lickers.

Fan-fucking-tastic. Everything I love is ruined by slop users.

just curious, are you planning to stop using technology altogether, once there’s nowhere else to migrate to?
I mean, I assume you have thrown away your PC already, since all 3 major OSes use AI in their development
You slop garglers really are wonderful people.
Also, didn’t Debian declare that AI generated code is not compliant with their policies? Also also: organic foods, human-powered bicycles, acoustic music, manual transmissions, etc
who’s “we”? I don’t happen to write any OSes myself, but yeah, tribalism is a powerful thing.
it doesn’t matter what debian declared, the kernel is what matters. but also no, they didn’t https://www.theverge.com/tech/986789/linux-debian-generative-ai-policy
An AI supporter would link The Verge instead of the source itself. 😒
You’re right, they allowed AI generated code.
https://www.debian.org/vote/2026/vote_002#texte
I was posting from mobile, so I linked the page that’s readable on mobile, unlike the source ;)
But yeah, no, sure, keep seething
I read the source on mobile.
Maybe you’re too used to having ChatGPT summarize things
I would sooner migrate to templeOS than use slopOS in gunna be real. There is always an archived iso
good luck
