I’m extremely concerned about the intensively arrogant and privileged Anti Woke edgelord chud comedy on YouTube like with Babylon Bee, Steven Crowder, Hodgetwins .etc
I am now looking for recommendations of some hilarious left leaning and woke vibed joke tellers and comedy groups on the platform in the same vibes as South Park, The Onion, Colbert Report, Chelsea Handler, WKUK, Sir Pelo .etc
So far I got it down with just Wizards With Guns, Mrs Betty Powers, Penguinz0, Chazington, Funkyfrogbait, and Contrapoints. Any other suggestions to try out
Some More News is kinda like the Colbert Report, but rather it’s a deep dive on a single topic about the latest news
The team is hilarious and Mr Cody’s delivery is 11/10.
I fucking hate ads but I honestly watch a lot of theirs bc they even do those hilariously. I miss watching Mr Cody slam AG1.
The only problem I have is that sometimes I don’t think late stage capitalism is funny and I end up not watching this, daily show or Colbert for months.
Hmm, I only know one person that calls the News Dude “Mr Cody”. That person also disappeared for months recently. Warmbo is that you?
I actually became a member to get the ad free versions. They’re totally worth a couple of bucks a month.
Cody & Katy are great. Jonathan is also there and great.
My day just isn’t complete if Jonathan isn’t also there
Also showing love for Some More News. It’s run by some golden age Cracked alumni.
The onion now owns Alex Jones Info wars, and is hosted by Tim Heidecker who does a pretty good Alex jones voice, and Jim Haggerty who has this conspiracy laced spin off show named after himself. Worth checking out if you’re a fan of the onion humor.
They are KILLING it. I honestly think the whole situation might be the funniest thing that ever happened
Internet Comment Etiquette with Erik
Dude’s not even overtly far left. He just takes the piss out of people who happen to be stupid in a particular fashion
Back in 2016 he mag-dumped on the Clinton campaign and said something to the effect of “I suppose this has many of you wondering where my loyalties lie. I’m just going say that’s how I prefer it”
I mean, a lot of the long form YouTubers are anti fascist in their stances but that’s not all they cover
Hbomberguy, folding ideas, etc
It’s been so long since Hbomb dropped a new video. 😭
PhilosophyTube, Contrapoints, Lindsey Ellis are all ones I would recommend too.
Not sure about the political leanings, but I also really like Sarah Z and Jenny Nicholson for essayists. I also quite liked Cinema Therapy, but that’s more of a reaction channel with a focus on mental health than anything else. Not particularly antifa afaik, but empathy is cool, yo.
Hbomb JUST put out his adobe video on Patreon. It’s SO GOOD!
Yes on all of those other recommendations
It’s so fucking good. It’s one of the best video essays I’ve ever seen ever. I was sad when it was over, and I realized that 4.5 hours went by really quickly.
Sweet! Thanks for letting me know.
Man Carrying Thing. ThePlantSlant123/Liam.
Both are great. Man Carrying Thing does long form about books and short form sketches about pop culture and politics.
I also quite like SellswordArts, while not inherently political, are at least woke and support LGBTQ+? To go along with that we have some other short-form content creators that worked on MinMaxed (their D&D podcast), which I haven’t personally listened to, but has solid reviews. Blumineck and Bensai are the other ones that I regularly watch. Not much of their long form content, however.
I"m not sure how much stuff out there counts as far left to you, but Doobus Goobus is very funny, and generally seems to come down on the right side of things.
You might be familiar with “States rights to do what???”
The channel looks good. Never heard of him, thanks!
Make sure to turn on captions!
Wizards With Guns and Almost Friday TV are the two funniest sketch channels on YouTube imo
+1 for Well There’s Your Problem
From the Trash Future/Lions Led By Donkeys/Kill James Bond group of folks, extremely leftist and dark comedy takes on engineering disasters, with slides
Josh Johnson is the least dark man on the platform. Also an all timer in the making though…
I wouldn’t call “Far” as its just people using arguments based on facts
Adam Conover https://youtube.com/@theadamconover I admit I have not seen much of his stuff after Adam Ruins Everything but he has some interesting guests
Adam Something https://youtube.com/@adamsomething City Planning Enthusiast, interesting analysis of a lot of Bro planning
Barry’s Economics https://youtube.com/@barryseconomics When Garry from Garry’s Economics wanted more people to step up he responded
Benn Jordan https://youtube.com/@bennjordan A good answer to the question “what can I possibly do in these dire times?”
Coffeezilla https://youtube.com/@coffeezilla They love him until they call them out
Climate Town https://youtube.com/@climatetown Well researched environment stuff. He convinced me to give up on gas
Hbomberguy https://youtube.com/@hbomberguy His "vaccines and autism: a measured response explained in detail where the anti-vaxxers come from and what are their arguments
InfoWars https://youtube.com/@realinfowars Because comedy is finally legal
Louis Rossman https://youtube.com/@rossmanngroup One of the biggest voices on the right to repair movement
Martha Root https://youtube.com/@back2theroot Killed a Neo Nazi dating app
Naomi Brockwell TV https://youtube.com/@naomibrockwelltv Privacy
Not Just Bikes https://youtube.com/@notjustbikes Urban planning
Some More News https://youtube.com/@smn News
The Juice Media https://youtube.com/@thejuicemedia Honest government ads
The Soy Pill https://youtube.com/@thesoypill Commenting
InfoWars is the best thing in many years, specifically everything with Jim Haggarty. He has been a favourite of mine since highschool!
thats_a_bad_idea on YouTube is a great one!
I’m a fan of many of the channels mentioned here.
I’d like to add Thought Slime. It’s a masterclass in sarcasm apart from anything else.
I also enjoy Private Eye Magazine for a more UK point of view. Their ‘Year In Review’ bits are really good.
I’ll plug Internet Today every chance I get. They are criminally undersubscribed.
As an Aussie, I can also recommend friendlyjordies, although he can be a bit of a mixed bag.
Not sure I’d call these especially ‘left wing’ — I’m really kind of starting to detest labels like left/right wing, to be honest — but they are definitely on the side of truth and reason, and mocking idiots.
The Skepticrat just started doing video recently, they’re great (and actually funny).
Contrapoints is a massive Zionist. Like the exact opposite of far left.
