It’s kinda funny. My wife and I were living together in a committed relationship for about five years. Then her mom said, in passing, “Aren’t you worried he doesn’t want to buy the cow if he can get the milk for free?” And that just sent her into a tailspin for weeks.

So, about a year later, we got married. And it’s been great. Ceremony was an excuse to have a big party with all of our friends. We’ve got a bunch of pictures all over the house where we can say “Damn, we looked good when we were younger”. Given the tax advantages and the fact that we were about to buy a house and have a son anyway, it was the logical move. But it’s amusing that this was the straw to break the camel’s back, so to speak.

Sounds kind of like the ideal wedding attitude to me. Light on the symbolism, heavy on the “one last rager to remind ourselves that we’re actually kinda too old to be doing that anymore”.

Similar boat. Already had a house, been together for years. Getting married was just for fun and tax benefits. It changed nothing, otherwise.

I never married in Skyrim. Not after probably a thousand of hour gameplay.

Real life no problem. Skyrim never.

I actually love the marriage mechanics in Skyrim. if you’re interested in someone, you put on an amulet of Mara and go talk to them. If they aren’t interested, they ignore it, and there is no social awkwardness. If they are interested in you, they comment on the amulet and ask if you are looking for a partner. You can then say woops, my bad, I didn’t realize that’s what wearing this meant, or yes I am, are you interested, if so, let’s go get married.

I wish real life was that straightforward. No games, no social awkwardness, no guessing.

It’s because life in Skyrim is so short and brutal. Half the population mysteriously dies every playthrough.

Reminds me of the Horga’hn from Star Trek, we should use those in real life too.

Or not, i could do without having an aneyurism from hearing about that stupid jahahmaron ever again.

Also, they never clarified whether the statues give any indicator about gender preference either.

You can monetize the power shout somehow in this capitalistic society. Worst case shout onlyfans? Even Cameo that app where you pay someone 199$ to say something.

Kill 14 more dragons and sell of their scales amd bones.

This requires at least 75 in Speech and many of the perks.

      “Dead inside”

      NOT Thu’um-in

Sure thing, buddy. You’re keeping that achievement locked.

Meanwhile with me it’s just the No Gods, No Masters NV achievement. Either that or the Clean and Righteous! Achievement from Red Faction Guerrilla.

Not the marrying type. But if there is a dragon soul around, I’m a bit peckish.
