Vimy ridge 1916:

Captain! The Germans are preparing a major assault.

Right, so it’s Tuesday then.

French and British troops look tense. Maps everywhere. Panic energy

Canadian section is sitting on a log eating rations

Allied troops: ‘you’re not concerned?’

Canadians: they can’t be worse than the geese back home. (Continues eating)

Look almost identical to Canada geese. You can only tell by the different honks. They go “honk, eh?”

I went for my lunchtime walk at work today and encountered a family of Canada geese. I sprinted through them on the path flailing like a madwoman, because it was the only way to get back to work. To their credit, they just looked at me like I was insane, which was fairly accurate.

Canada geese in my area are chill. I’ve been chased by an Egyptian goose in Hyde Park (I was filming at the time, but that video will never see the light of day). It’s that one with the sticking out wing feather, it was there a year later, I wonder if it’s still around? Have you seen their eyes? Proper Sith eyes. I’ve also been given a death stare by a greylag, because we were giving its juvenile scraps.

But Canada geese, very polite birds, never had a problem with them.
