Recently one of the posts I made got a porn spam comment and I also saw a lot of porn spam in my instance’s communites. Also just now I got an abusive DM telling me to kill myself and accusing me of being an astroturfer.
Has anyone else experienced anything like that lately or is it just me?
Friend, with all due respect, there are some people here who belong in a hospital. Mental illness.
A sizeable chunk of us were banned from Reddit. I’m convinced some of those bans were justified.

Not seeing it out here in the .world instance, but then again I’m not engaging with trans, autism, or furry communities as much as I think that you are. Sounds as though you’ve caught a homophobe troll’s attention, owing to the KYS & astroturfing DM, and false reporting. Bounce this upstairs to your instance’s mods, and let others know who they are.
Today sure has one with a tool bag posing anti trans stuff and non tagged nsfw posts.

Wow… that… I have no words for that. That is beyond despicable. I had a feeling things were bad when I saw the governance thread but that’s way way worse than I thought.
If you have a bit of time, please collect evidence of when that targeting and harassment happens. I’ve already seen a few accounts using low-quality /c/MoG posts to try and demonize .ml, lemmygrad and hexbear so it’s useful to have a post or posts to point to showing that it’s a harassment circlejerk, not the credible spectators they pretend to be.
I only had a DM once but never happened again, maybe a troll targeted you? The dm, btw
I think this may depend on the instance you’re on. The “trans” spam bot hit up my sister’s account but she’s on fedia/mbin. I haven’t noticed the other abuses per se to be like. Rampant or anything.
But I also don’t check DM’s.
Not spam per se, but there does seem to be a sharp uptick in brand new accounts making tons of posts and getting banned. It seems every day I see numerous posts made by users that are already banned by whatever community they posted in (by the time I see them.) Mods must be working overtime.
I’ve been here for a couple of years now and have never gotten anything like that. I even occasionally ban people (which I can’t imagine they are too happy about). 🤷♂️

I saw it earlier. Also got spammed by an asshole telling me to kill myself. Lemmy is going to shit these days. I’m thinking about going back to Reddit, or digg. At least they don’t have shit like this there. Spam like this gets squashed quickly there. /s

@Emopunker@feddit.org, the MeanwhileonGrad comm is a cesspool, you posted there in a thread complaining about your instance getting defederated for its rampant zionism. You used your ability as an admin to view the votes on that thread and complained about users who upvoted the thread.

They then started getting DM harassment, along with other people who have been vocally anti-zionist lately.
