That’s why they get paid the big bucks! They should take responsibility, apologize, and move on. Claiming it was a mistake is childish and insulting.
It could be. But if it was a mistake, what are they going to say? That it was intentional? Companies have a lot of people and management often doesn’t always get a clear idea of who did what and how.
