certainly possible. I just think Gabe isn’t the only Gabe who works at valve.

meh, IDK. it won’t change the basic facts of the company, there will still be no stakeholders.

A long-term losing strategy, yet short term it normally reliably drums up support in the kind of range that can tip an election. Quite eye-opening to me that an election can still be won with far-from-center politics.

After all, NYC is not part of the world.
Oddly enough, the NYPD have offices internationally, in Qarar, Israel, Colombia, Germany, and numerous other countries. Also, the New York health department is the one that cracked open the case on lead contamination in turmeric farming in Bangladesh. It’s probably one of the most international cities, for whatever that means.

wtf is “cultural intellectual property?” Sounds like another word for gatekeeping.

If only all monopolies were so user-positive.
I suspect what’s unique in valve’s case is that they don’t have investors and board members and other stakeholders to lead them toward short-term profit maximization.

tomorrow is budget day, let’s see what comes of it. Perhaps our finance minister will need to cancel Disney+.

Our royals went to visit Sweden a year or two ago, IIRC.
not the only issue, but as a lemmy.ca user I feel obligated to put in a word
canada is supposed to touch the Pacific

ah I didn’t realize this. I stand corrected.

This is from the OneBC party, which only has 2 members, and nobody even voted for this party in the first place. These are formerly conservative MPs which were kicked out of their own party.
Now, the conservative party is pretty anti-transgender itself, but I would not really consider anything the OneBC party brings forward to be news-worthy unless it’s picked up by at least one other party.

It’s essentially monotonic, so of course it’s an all-time high.
Do you know of any protests that I could join?

Derivative IP is so fucking different from gen AI. It’s stupid IP laws that force what could have been a commercial fangame to instead be legally distinct.
can you give some examples of things that would count as world news to you? I would think world news is stuff that affects everyone throughout the world. U.S. politics affects everyone quite a bit.
