I actually thought he did it so the family wouldnt lose anything. Since he never resigned wouldnt the family also have received benefits from his death. Maybe im wrong, but I felt like I read that a while back.
This happens in the developing world on occasion, with the assumption is that insurance pays out to the family. I’m 99% sure doing the deed yourself means it doesn’t pay out at all. Tragic all the way down.
That was back when politicians actually felt shame.
Was it shame, or the system actually holding corrupt politicians accountable? I miss those days.
And all he did was take a bribe to give a sweetheart deal to a tech company.
