ah yes the good old caste system that makes you post normieslop on your karma farm subreddits.
I’m struck by the fact that the Reddit is now just straight fucking video content almost exclusively. And most of it is just reposts from TikTok.
It happened so slowly. But it’s just video, video, video.
I don’t like video content. Video content is not entertaining. Video content eats up the bandwidth on my phone. I do not like Reddit.
Maybe it’s an ADD thing, or an ‘aging millenial shaking thier fist’ thing, but video is soooo slow.
For reference or discussion, I always seek text first, to the point I’ll even download/make transcripts if video’s the only place I can find something. They just have so much filler.
No that’s just true, videos are designed around ad slots — not content. A text guide you can scan through yourself is infinitely superior.
Agreed. There’s also the issue of indexing. You can’t ctrl+f a fucking video.

Nobody exists on purpose.
😳😐🙂↔️ Gonna try to erase that from my memory!
Happens on Lemmy too.
Probably all social media.
The Lemmy version is: “guys I want to install Linux because I’m not comfortable with Windows but I’m not a tech genius and I just want a computer that I can install the OS and not have to worry about it again because I don’t have a lot of free time and I don’t want to have to spend hours troubleshooting it ever and I don’t understand any of the terms you guys throw around when you’re discussing Linux. I don’t know what OS to choose or how to set up the post install and I’m super confused, I hear you talk about repos, and incompatibility with drivers, and picking different options that I don’t understand what they are or how to choose and it’s like you’re all speaking a different language.” “well if you want to rot with Windows then you deserve to have all your personal data stolen, it’s a willing choice you made at this point you idiot, why are you even here?”
Well yes but… every time in the last 2 year whenever i tried to post ANYTHING(meme, brainstorming, ideas, help) i got so many people to hate speech on me that i had to delete every post i made. Well in terms of every social media has haters i am totally agree. But in my personal view currently reddit holds the crown as one of the most toxic paople on social network.
Fair enough. It makes sense it exists in different degrees
