He couldn’t be more wrong. Making cities more walkable and cycling friendly actually increases business in those areas.

The current Labour government believes it can revive the economy via incantation if it yells Growth 3 times in the mirror at midnight

That is a perfect way to put it, “Change”, was their slogan.

The only thing they’ve changed is sex = birth-assigned gender. Cheers guys yeah that makes my life as transfemme much easier 👍

If I were British I’d struggle to imagine voting labour again. Like what credibility could they possibly ever claim

That’s how most people feel right now, which means Reform (Fascists) are winning since they were 2nd. So that’s only gonna make things worse.

Imagine if cars only now started to become a thing and we were living in a walkable city with viable public transportation.

We would probably as a society question why do cars need to be so large and require massive empty parking lots.

It would be crazy to pave over a whole park in the center of a green walkable town.

oh they did that when cars were brand new, people protested and HATED cars

rich people and politicians of course couldn’t care less, and just ignored them as they passed laws restricting people’s freedom to use streets like normal, giving absurd privileges to cars and car manufacturers.

The only way a cycle lane could be “political” or especially “politically incorrect”, is if political correctness necessitated, even dictated, running over any and every cyclist with your car as a normalized practice.

That’s how you can easily identify any sort of right wing bullshit: it sounds like what the worst psychopath you could imagine might say that because, to be right wing, you must be a psychopath.

Is that the society you want?
