    Nice article to read, but disappointed at the apparent lack of African contributors. Where is the AU version of AFP?

      Glad you liked it. One thing we can try to do about the lack of an AU AFP is to amplify the many forums and organic news’ sources rooted in local communities in our countries so we do not have to rely on centralized corporations or governments to report about us.

        True, but it is unfortunate observation that almost none of these sources avoid the AMGAF platforms. How many sources are you aware of that use protocols such as Activitypub? :)

          Very few indeed. Actually, some are actively opposed to ideas like federation out of fear of ‘who will control the bad elements’, as if centralized systems have managed to moderate all the ills away.
