There are two types of country artists. One will help you hide a body and run from the cops. The other will call you a slur.
After 9/11, Country turned from “we are working people” to “My Dad’s an oil tycoon and I love the US”.
that was around the same time local radio collapsed and I heart radio and other conglomerates took over. not long after media ownership rules changed. I don’t think it was the artists who changed.
The girl’s musicians are folk, not country. That’s kind of the main purpose of the distinction.
