While I think it is good to inform about these topics I always hate how they portray the people doing this kind of horrific business as if they were the devil themselves, while in reality they are also people who are struggling to live. Why not portray it as the effect of global capitalism? Because it is the British and Usonian empires’ fault, they are stained with this blood.
The two are not mutually exclusive, and this particular report focuses on the human story. In public communication, using concrete human experiences goes a long way, compared to using real but abstract topics like capitalism. I think this report would have been diluted had it just focused on how this is an ill of long waves of capitalism.
