I suppose. Thank you Commander Shepard.
Real life? Where do you think it originated, from a video game?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is there a decent video compressor like compressing from like 4k to 720p? Quality not an issue. I am used to watching cams when movies come out. Just size downward.
3·4 days agoDepending on your hardware strength and what media you’re converting, the handbrake suggestion might be best. But I’m coming in to say that does take a lot of compute power. You mentioned watching cams, so if it’s popular TV/movie data you’re compressing, it’s often quicker to just download a different, lower resolution source from torrent.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•should we allow (aka accept as a community) communities like !pcmasterrace@zerobytes.master that just repost reddit content and don’t allow lemmy-only posts?
1·6 days agoWho is we? Clearly the instance accepts it or else the instance admins would remove it. The point of Lemmy is that people can run instances and have what content they like posted there.
If you don’t like it, Lemmy has native blocking for communities. I have that community blocked and it doesn’t bother me anymore.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your preferred Android Launcher in 2026?
11·9 days agoOLauncher is great. I used Nova for a long time but I’m happy with OLauncher. It’s also available on F-Droid which is pretty neat.
