Better than the original, it drives me nuts that they rhymed masses with masses, come on guys.

As someone who likes the genre I’m just really happy there’s so much content being made. Yea some of it is slop trying to recapture the fad of ACOTAR (the book pictured), but some of the stuff coming out of it is really good. Also, because of this, there’s more romance in a lot of genres that didn’t have much before (looking at you sci-fi).
Personally, I love love and reading romance brings me joy. Some of these books are cringy teen angst with unrealistic and toxic relationships (mainly the YA side), but I’ve found that most I’ve picked up have healthy relationships with interesting plots that don’t revolve around just the romance.
That said, pure romance books (the pastel section of the store) have burned me too many times for me to bother trying anymore. Almost everything that this post complains about but 1000%.
Ngl, this post reminds me of the backlash that seems to follow anything coded for women that becomes really popular.

4·4 months agoAssuming you’re talking about original art I think Etsy is your best bet. Sometimes eBay has some. You also get some really cool altered art where they extend the background etc. Its not cost effective though and there’s a lot of ai art now. My rule of thumb is anything over 4$ gets proxied now for a deck. There are sites like https://tolarianlibrary.com/ that do pretty good 1:1 copies that pass the sniff test for casual play. I really really hate when art is economically locked, philosophically art should be for all. I try and always proxy the prettiest version of cards. The secret lair copies aren’t perfect but their pretty darn close. There’s a handful of other sites I can DM you that I trust. To answer your original question I think there is a site for proxy designs, but they don’t give you the cards just the designs.

2·4 months agoIn the future you might consider picking up a dolphin bar. It handles all the Bluetooth stuff and has four modes, one of which is a mouse mode with motion controls and one of which is using the nunchuck. Still, very cool!
Bit of a stretch, but this kind of reminds me of the Characters wallpapers from 7: https://windowswallpaper.miraheze.org/wiki/Windows_7
I love my 2001! We’re at 348k and still kicking. Engine misfires are starting to get worse so we’ll see how many more miles she has

100% with you on Red Queen. As soon as it was about armies and a revolutionary force and all that it just kinda faded in interest. I think honestly just too YA for me. All I remember is that the people have powers and there’s a cool walled city or something?
I totally get North Woods, it was strange. The supernatural bits felt a little out of place at the end. Definitely a love letter to naturalism though.
What are some of your favorite books?
Omg we do have a bunch in common! Stealing this reading list for when I need a new book to read.
I used storygraph but I’m not really sold on it. Going to look at some of the other alternatives in this thread!
I thought the Red Queen series was alright, but didn’t end up finishing it. It really reminded me of the Hunger Games for some reason and I just wasn’t feeling the vibes. North Woods was fascinating. I read it after seeing a screenshot of the beetle erotica bit. I’m definitely glad I did. It wasn’t the character driven narrative I normally go for (unless you want to make the argument that the house was the main character which honestly is a pretty good argument), but I found it charming and mysterious. Not my favorite but fun.
My favorite is definitely Moonbound. 10/10, incredible sci-fi book that blurs the lines with fantasy without getting too Chronicles of Riddick if you know what I mean.
Not sure about jitters but it’s worth mentioning that movies are shot at 23.976 fps, not 24. If you’re looking at the fps counter it will occasionally say 23 depending on how it’s encoded. Personally I use mpc-hc + mad vr, but I think hc isn’t being developed anymore. My setup automatically sets the refresh rate of the display out to match the file. Or at least that’s how it was setup a while back. Now I just use native plex apps which do the frame rate thing automatically.

No interest in slop. You could have scribbled this on a napkin and it would have had more meaning than this.
