1·2 months agoYes I was quite afraid, or maybe just somewhat prepared, that a healthy solution is not possible.
I guess I should note that a minimization of pain is better than nothing. So I’ll take any ideas that are healthy-adjacent at least.
Thanks, might well be something I need to look into depending on my decision.
Very good info and your comment has convinced me that fire is not the solution. I think I know what I can do instead, actually.

1·2 months agoI really appreciate this idea. I’ve always thought I was no good at traditional “art” but perhaps I need to broaden my idea of what will constitute art and what can be made and kept in plain sight.
Yes. Ok well that complicates things, but I suppose a piece of string small enough may be able to dangle out of the closed door and maybe be slightly moved…
Ok, that’s a good point and something appreciated insight.

1·2 months agoSorry my writing may not be at its best, my sleep is terrible and it affects me more than I think.
Not sure if it was posted before. Requirements would be encrypted journal entries for digital and pen/paper for cases where something needs to be truly destroyed.
I think I’ve settled on a raspberry pi and some journaling program or simply a text editor. It’s been good to brainstorm.

6·2 months agoOne thing I want to try is journaling, to start.
Edit: has anyone ever tried to journal but was instinctively unable to write unrestricted? I think I just need to push through this feeling.

Additionally, in general, what digital signals (if any, reliably) are able to penetrate a locked safe?

1·2 months agoThank you, the more I’m thinking about it, perhaps a raspberry pi with LUKS disk that’s airgapped would be best.
Though I still don’t know of a relatively nice journaling app.

1·2 months agoThank you very much. I’ll look into this.
Edit: I appreciate the suggestion but docker is not an option in my case. For further context for anyone else reading, I will sacrifice as many features as needed to ensure a secure system, even if this gets to the point of a locally run and air-gapped system. Though, if there is a level of convenience out there that doesn’t meaningfully sacrifice security then I would obviously like to take that route.

1·2 months agoThe weight of being unable to share things with literally anyone is totally fine until for some reason the crushing reality of your life comes crashing down on your consciousness and you start seeking some new form of mental relief like a cockroach looking for shelter in the midst of a nuclear fallout.

Thanks, if I somehow stumble on somebody who mentions even one thing I can relate to, I’ll be sure to listen and absorb what was said.
