My son. It’s tanks. He’s 12 and can go on for hours about them, rattling off their armor thickness (in mm), caliber of their guns, horsepower of their engines, declination and traverse speeds of their turrets, etc. I took him to a tank museum one time, and no shit a quarter mile from the museum he sees the tank out front and he goes: “That’s a Sherman M4A4!!” Ten minutes later we’re parked and walking up to the museum, I look at the tiny info placard, M4A4, think to myself: “What the fuck.”

…Fuck. Just… Fuck. From a single photo. Sure, there was a couple hitches with the mouth movements, but damn. Another year, two at the most, and anyone will be able to fabricate a realistic video of anyone doing anything on their own computer at home. You can pretty much do this now, but need beefier hardware and the user interfaces are daunting. But it won’t be like that for long.

That with a fp16 model? Don’t be scared to try even a 4 bit quantization, you’d be surprised at how little is lost and how much quicker it is.

Yes, I do feel the need to donate and buy products from people and companies who act morally correct. I also do the opposite and not buy products from companies who notify users months after the fact or act morally corrupt. Capitalism can work both ways, that’s how boycotts work.

I don’t own this game, and it doesn’t look like the type I would play, but I’m buying it to support the devs. It looks like they responded quickly to the breach and were fully open and transparent to the community.

EDIT: Bought the game before realizing it was a fan made expansion. No regrets, I’ll give it a try. I looked for any type of donation option but didn’t see one. But my point stands, please back developers who do the right thing. 👍🏻
