Just registered to add some more details to this excellent critique to the cult/pseudo-party ACP.
Their “magazine” is just a PDF with a shitty portrait and a bunch of essays. It’s not even properly edited, one column texts, black on white. The “essays” aren’t really that, but some times they are speeches by the party leadership mixed with already published articles of third parties (I really hope they ask for permission to their original authors for that…)
For example, “Noah Khrachvik” (not his real name) did a response to a Paul Cockshot article in which Noah defended the revolutionary nature of the “American Revolution” and the Founding Fathers; while the original Paul Cockshot defended the notion that the 13 Colonies were closer to a slaver republic inspired by Rome than a revolutionary bourgeois state.
There was only one issue… Cockshot article was 6 years old. Noah was answering to a previously publicly posted article.
I’ve extensively interviewed many former members and infiltrated their ranks and it’s basically a cult surrounding the leadership that seeks to get money out of the rank and file.
I’ve interviewed former ACP rank and file members and they were convinced that the whole scheme is built to win money for the leadership. They seek to be economically sustainable thru dues (they initially claimed they didn’t have dues, but they do), the income from Red America and the “party businesses”.
Some of the higher echelon leaders have invested time and money on the whole project and expect to get it back.
